Florida State soccer announced the signing of five to the 2024 class on Thursday afternoon. FSU signed Wrianna Hudson, Emma Kirlin, Peyton McGovern, Nina Norshie and Taylor Suarez.
Wrianna Hudson | FWD | Rochester, N.Y. | Greece Athena High School
A 6-2 forward out of Rochester, N.Y., Hudson will add an immediate physical impact to the Florida State program. The Hudson earned ECNL Player of the Year and All-America honors during the 2020-21 season. She has earned a plethora of all-region and all-conference honors including the All-Greater Rochester Player of the Year award. Hudson had one of the best soccer plays of the season last month as she fought off five defenders before finding the back of the net. The play was No. 1 on Sportscenter's Top 10 Plays list. Hudson also participated in track and field and flag football during her high school career. She has earned High Honor Roll and plans to major in biology.
Emma Kirlin | GK | Greenville, S.C. | Wade Hampton High School
Kirlin was named to the Piedmont Conference Best XI along with the Southeastern Conference First Team and Mid-Atlantic Conference Second Team. She captained Wade Hampton High School and her club team Carolina Elite Soccer Academy and earned an invite to the USWYNT Training Center. Emma was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club and Junior Civitan. Emma plans to major in Engineering and is the daughter of James and Heather Kirlin and sister to her twin brother, Will, and Lily.
Peyton McGovern | MID | Bristow, Va. | Brentsville District High School
McGovern comes to Florida State and will add great depth to the midfield. The former Virginia Player of the Year was named a top 50 recruit in the country. She earned ECNL All-America status and was the ECNLCo-Player of the Year. McGovern was also invited to the US Youth National Team. Off the field, McGovern earned a perfect 4.0 GPA and will major in biology at FSU.
Nina Norshie | DEF | Accra, Ghana | St. John's Grammar
A First Team NJCAA All-America selection, Norshie is one of the most prolific scorers in all of junior college. Playing for Barton Community College, Norshie has scored 65 goals in just 42 games while also adding 15 assists. During her collegiate career, Norshie has recorded 11 hat tricks and 15 game-winning goals. Last season, Norshie scored seven goals in one game against Trinity Valley Community College. Norshie also has a plethora of international experience as she was a member of U17 and U20 Ghana National Team. Norshie earned a spot on the full Ghanian National Team in July of 2021 where she made her debut in a friendly against the South African National Team.
Taylor Suarez | FWD | Charlotte, N.C. | Ardrey Kell High School
Suarez led Ardrey Kell High School to the 4A State Championship with 36 goals and 33 assists this past season. The mantle of awards from the past two years alone includes two-time Gatorade North Carolina Player of the Year, two-time NCSCA State Player of the Year, two-time United Soccer Coaches High School State Player of the Year, and NCSCA First Team, All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference selections. She was also named 2023 Charlotte Observer Female Athlete of the Year, 2022 Charlotte Observer Soccer Player of the Year and finished her high school career with 73 goals and 59 assists. During this past year with the Charlotte Soccer Academy she earned Carolina Soccer Honors Female Club Athlete of the Year, U17 Mid-Atlantic Conference Player of the Year, and was selected to the U17 All-American Team. In her time with the USWYNT she has competed at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and scored in the group stage while also playing a big role at the 2022 CONCACAF Women's U-17 Championship as she scored twice and provided the most assists in the championship. Suarez comes from Puerto Rican and Portuguese descent and hopes to become a lawyer or work for the FBI. She also has two dogs, Mojo and Benny, and enjoys baking desserts. Her plan is to major in Criminology and is daughter to Lorie and Rick Suarez and sister to JD and Nick.
