Tallahassee would benefit from a man made lake, similar to Lake Norman in Charlotte, that offered people recreational activity and community development.

Too damn hot and not enough draw to live there after school or to even consider for retirement.

Tallahassee has lots of lakes that offer recreation like (Swimming, water skiing, fishing) Lake Bradford where the the FSU Seminole Rez in located, Lake Jackson, Lake Hall (Alfred B. Maclay State Park), and a short 25 minute drive to Wakulla Springs State Park (Not a lake obviously). We also have these pesky critters called alligators that inhabit all our bodies of water natural and man made that Charlotte doesn't have too much of. Not to mention all the various water snakes. I much prefer swimming in a pool. Although you can't really catch any fish in one of those.

Pretty much without a/c the entire State of Florida would be very inhospitable.

That's what I don't get. All of these lakes and Tallahassee doesn't have a true lake community like you would find at Lake Norman in NC, Lake Oconee in GA, Lake Lanier in GA, Lake Keowee in SC where wealthy retirees or locals call home or have a second home in a plush community built around the body of water with a heavy recreational boat traffic.

Killearn Lakes was initially planned as a lake community.
