As the soccer Women's World Cup approaches, its ridiculous that former FSU player Becky Edwards ( Twitter @BeckyEdwards14 ) is not on the team. Talent wise she absolutely should be there but getting selected for that team is very political. A bad luck knee injury was a culprit in this situation.

Edwards was a starter on the 2008 Under 20 USA team along with players like Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux that won the Women's World Cup in Chile.

Edwards is a defensive midfielder, The USWNT would be improved if she was there. The only Nole to get a few caps with the USWNT was India Trotter. Some gators have starred ( Abby Wambach, Heather Mitts)

It is time for change.
