It's time to go to Jack's house.

Rory McIlroy is playing in the USA this week as the
PGA tour moves to the Muirfield village golf club in Dublin, Ohio for
the Memorial Tournament which is hosted by Jack Nicklaus. This is an
Invitational tournament and it has a reduced field of only 120 players.
It is part of the FedExCup schedule and the winner will obtain 500
points.

The past ten winners of this event with their final scores are -

2013 Matt Kuchar - 12

2012 Tiger Woods - 9

2011 Steve Stricker - 16

2010 Justin Rose - 18

2009 Tiger Woods - 12

2008 Kenny Perry - 8

2007 K J Choi - 17

2006 Carl Pettersson -12

2005 Bart Bryant - 16

2004 Ernie Els - 18

The Course

The course is a par 72 of about 7300 yards with four par 5's and four
par 3's. The rolling fairways are mainly tree lined and there are just
over 70 bunkers on this course and there are water hazards on more than
half of the holes. The greens are smaller than average and are bent
grass.

It is not an easy course to play on and In 2010, Justin Rose won with a
score of - 18 but it was still ranked as 19th in difficulty on the PGA
Tour and the course was again ranked 19th in difficulty on the PGA tour
in 2011. It was 6th in difficulty in 2012 and last year Matt Kuchar won
when only two players finished on double figures under par.

It is not unusual for par 5's to be amongst the easiest holes to play on
a course and this is especially true here as the four easiest holes in
the last two years have been the four par 5's which produced a total of
20 eagles and 524 birdies last year whilst three of the toughest six
holes in 2012 and 2013 were par 3's.

Trends and type of player suited to course

1. Course experience is helpful here and no rookie has ever won this
event and no player in the last 10 years has won without playing in this
event at least twice previously.

2. All of the winners this century had previously won on the PGA tour before their success here.

3. Only one player ( Tiger Woods ) this century has won when they were
under the age of 25 and the majority of the latest 10 winners have been
over 30 years old.

4. All of the last seven winners had previously managed to obtain a top
20 finish in one of their latest two appearances at this event before
their success.

Experienced players with good course management and a solid all round game are likely to do well this week.

Weather forecast

There are likely to be thunderstorms during the few days before the
event starts and more thunderstorms are expected on Thursday. Friday and
Saturday should be much drier with the possibility of some showers
whilst Sunday looks likely to be the best day as it should be dry, hot
and sunny. The wind is expected to be moderate on all four days.

Last week's winner noles2952! Congrats!

Perhaps she was an albatross around his neck, and he'll start playing to his potential now. (...Or maybe i just jinxed him.)

Looks like he's following the cblunt58 "great round with a mediocre round the next day" theory so far today.

A front nine 43 isn't even mediocre.

I blame Lizard.
Nah. Look at my picks, as per usual. Blame me.

Re: PGSF FedEx Cup Week 21 The Memorial

You knew it was coming for Rory. He is wildly inconsistent these days.
