So, let's hear from the FSU GM.
He says he's ecstatic to represent Florida State. Says it was something he couldn't turn down. "I think we have a great staff in place."
Says he was fired in his first year as a GA at Fresno State. Said next job he made 900 dollars a month. Says he loves being off the field and being behind the scenes and making sure things go smoothly.
Says FSU has always been Florida State to him. Even though Fresno is his alma mater. Said he tried to walk on to the team. And they told him to start off the field instead. Says it's a big reason why he's where he's at now.
Says the thing he enjoys the most is watching film. Says he could lock himself in a room for 20 hours and evaluate players. "I enjoy that part of the business."
Says staff is top notch, energetic, very organized. He wants to assist in helping move everything forward, and says he has not been around a better staff in terms of recruiting and organization.
Says Doug Nussmeier took him under his wing and so did Drew Hill - both at Fresno State. They were instrumental in his career development.
Says he will be back out there for every team activity to observe the roster, he's watched the full season already from a year ago. He's trying to collect as much information as possible.
He says communication is the key to recruiting well. It's a relationship driven business in recruiting, so communication is the key.
Says Norvell is awesome, great person, great coach. "Otherwise I wouldn't be here." Says that was a big reason why he came to FSU, was to work for Norvell and implement his vision.
He says evaluation is his favorite thing because at the end of the day every program is judged by the type of player they bring in.
He then apologizes for being late. And that's a wrap.

FSU Football's new general manager of personnel, Darrick Yray (pronounced Ray), is meeting with the media over Zoom this morning at 11:30 ET.
He will be sharing insight into his new position, how he got the job with FSU and more.
