urban - how bad is it - what you got

had friend tell me it is bad .. maybe would fire him if end of season .. can do it with the whole season ahead .. but they can fire him with cause and terminate contract

middle of rebuild and he gets videoed out drinking and some woman (not his wife) humping on him and HIS FAMILY AND WHOLE TEAM HAS SEEN IT .. not a rumor it is on video

anyway heard some say it is not being spoken about but did not go away either .. what are you hearing in Jax

Never miss a chance to beat a good horse while its dead

Is anyone ready to crown Jimbo Fisher as the fraud he really is? Look. Forever gratwful for the NC and the class he recruited that brought it. But he has forever been called a QB whisperer and offensive genius. Beyond Winston years when and with whom?

A&M is a testimony to who he really is. A great recruiter but beyond that not much of a coach IMO. Interesting to see how his remaining A&M years play out.

Updates from Wednesday morning FSU football practice — 11:45 (w/ interviews)

10:40 — They did some red zone work and Purdy had some nice plays. He found a tight end for a TD and then ran for another. After throwing it away on one play, which seemed to aggravate Dillingham, Purdy came back and hit Parchment for a pretty TD in the corner.

Corbin had a nice run when Milton was in, then Milton hit Pokey for a short gain.

Defensively, McLendon and Quashon had nice stops against the run.

Purdy came back and hit throws to Toafili for a nice gain after the catch, and same with Darion Williamson.

10:20 — Malik McClain caught 2 or 3 TDs in 1 on 1. Had a long TD with an impressive slant route when they were back on the 40 yard line.

Also Kevin Knowles jumping up high with a great INT in the back of the end zone.

10:10 — Xavier Lee is attending practice today.

Worked on some third-down situations and the offense did better

Ward had a run for about 10.
Milton hit a pass to Corbin for about 15
Milton hit McDonald for about 7-8 and Camm made a really nice catch — was well covered by Robinson. Norvell went over and praised Camm after.

On Purdy’s drive, he scrambled for about 10.
He then missed a throw to Jordan Young. Then he Rector for a nice gain.

Milton came back and hit Pokey for about 20 yards on a really pretty pass.

9:20 — There’s lighting over campus, so this is probably going to be mostly or all inside again.

During the early fundamentals, a few DBs got a lot of praise for open-field tackling. Akeem Dent did really well on one, and Norvell shouted, “Good rep 2-7” several times. Jarquez McClellion and Sidney Williams also did well and got a lot of praise.

During the initial 2-minute offense, Milton took the main drive. He hit a nice pass to Pokey Wilson for about 10-15 yards, then tried to find Malik McClain on a deep route, but McClain couldn’t locate the ball when he turned around. Then the defense dominated.

Milton tried to hit Camm McDonald next, but Jammie Robinson had great coverage and broke it up. Then Milton threw a pass underneath to Corbin, but Dix played it perfectly and stopped it for no gain. LBs coach Chris Marve was super excited.

The last pass was from Travis to Corbin on the sideline, and it would have been a great diving catch, but he couldn’t come up with.

More coming …

@iraschoffel

what is the back story on this guy Jarquez McClellion ...

he transfers in . never plays .. and is never is on the two deep and
now he is gone from 3rd team to starter in like 2 games and getting some decent Pff grades

has he been hurt and now healed .. maybe got struck by lightning and his light came on ..
the guys in front of him are hurt and he still is 3rd team but he is the only one healthy?

seems like he came out of nowhere .. maybe I missed it

Third-and-Lang: Examining UNC's Howell, Passing Offense, Key Defensive #s

Hey everyone!

This week we're looking at the opponent again. Sam Howell is dangerous, but the Tar Heels haven't had the easiest time blocking it up. More in the article

2021 revised goals vs prep for 2022 - things did not go like we hoped

@Dot Com
@iraschoffel
so in the end where are we now.. what are our revised goals for 2021 ..what are hoping to accomplish

initially our goals for 2021 were
if we had beaten ND and taken Jax state like a game not a practice .. our goal was 6-7 wins and to show improvement. Not going to happen at this point

So can you guys give us some detailed, realistic 2021 goals in a list form and maybe in a nice article on our revised goals .. maybe each staff member can add in their two cents ...

realistically we only win 3-4 games tops with a crippled OL .. so at this point we have goals like
1. be competitive in each game and maybe squeak 1-2 upsets out
2 get better / prep for 2022
I AM ASSUMING AT NO POINT IS THE OL 100% AND LOOKING LIKE THEY DID AGAINST ND thus our offense never has a chance to look really good again in 2021. We are a totally different team when all 5 are healthy and playing well. when scott and smith are out we are top of acc.

anyway .. some thoughts and suggestions
1. focus a lot on chubba in practice and in the film room .. get him some game reps .. he or Duffy will be the starters next year ..
2 our dbs have talent . every game some one switches positions and moves from back up to starter. select the final 5 starts and work with them. Have them playing at an high level by the bowl game .. after spring the DBs need to be the strength of the defense in 2022
3 figure out which WRs will be our 2022 WRs? McClain, Williamson and Helton? maybe add burrell and robinson? get them ready .. let them be the starters for the bowl game ..
4 special teams .. figure out who is in and who is out .. get the 2022 special team group ready .. douglass does not look like the guy .. some folk do not run straight ahead into a head on collision as good as others .. I get it .. I do not either .. but I am not on t he return team ..neither Douglas or me need to returning kicks ...

what can we do in 2021 that is realistic? .. please give me a list and write me an article .. so I know what I am looking for the rest of the year since it will not be lots of wins

Where is Emmett Rice?

I understand he had an injury last season but hes the only one that hasnt made it back onto the field this year. Its his final season as far as I can tell, so what are you waiting for? The LBs are the worst unit on defense (mainly Lundy and Gainer). They are slow and constantly out of position. Teams are constantly looking to exploit those two in coverage. Make them chase a TE or Rb across the middle and they are toast. I think I even saw him dressed out for the Wake game.

How to know it’s time to replace assistant coaches.

This is also a reflection on Coach Norvell. We are not developing players. Who has gotten better from the start of this year?

When the season started I really could care less about the record. I wanted to see improvement. Players improving for next season. It’s not happening at all. You watch BC, Louisville, Wake, hell even Miami you can see some players getting better.

I’m still with Norvell but it’s slipping. Two main things concern me with him as they did last year. Putting players in their right positions to be their beat and development. Those things go hand and hand.

Don’t want to make this too long but Brownlee needs to be a safety. It’s clear as day. Travis Jay needs to be moved to offense. Preferably a WR. Jordan Travis to slot. No way he should be playing qb. Put Purdy or Rodemaker in the game and let them play. They have both been here more than a year. If they are not ready that’s on the coaches. We have to know what we have at that position to see if we need to bring in a transfer qb.

next year we have LSU game 2. Let these young guys get reps with this schedule ahead of us to prepare for next year. Let them get timing with receivers they will be throwing too next year.
