Reminder I was a HUGE Kiffin Fan

I just want to let everyone know that Kiffin would be 3-0 right now if he was at FSU and we would have NFL pedigree coaching. Furthermore he’s as good of a recruiter as it gets and would be running the state.

But he did some immature things 10 years ago and our fan base would rather lose. Enjoy the next few years because our admin and fans wouldn’t even consider Joey Freshwater.

Is FSU cursed?

We need some kind of excuse to be this hideous…

exhibit A. Cyrus Fagan who was a decent player but sub par attitude is best DB for NC State

B: DJ Matthew’s putting up monster numbers at Indiana/ Warren Thompson with several nice plays for Arky.

C: recruit Marchiol Playing out of His mind in last 2 minutes of his game last night.

d-z all of the absurd crap (starting with GT block field goal) speaking of GT…the crazy lightning delay that cost us that game last year. What else can’t you recall that’s has happened to this team the last 7 years?

Boise….
Willie….
Dilly..
Norvell…
ND
JSU

yea it’s kinda ridiculous to even bring up and nah I’m not superstitious BUT…WTF is happening to this program?

brace yourself for 1-11 but it’s ok, “ we are a young team”

Hiring decisions and solving problems

Wilcox hand picked Wille to stop the bleeding, who was a very questionable hire. I loved Wille's passion for FSU and his ability to recruit, but I was also very concerned with his losing record as a HC with limited P5 experience. This hire turned into a disaster as he was completely unorganized and just couldn't coach. I don't blame the administration for pulling the plug on him when they did.

The moment FSU announced it was CMN, I was so disappointed because I was really hoping for Bob or Mark Stoops, both proven P5 winners and champions. You had an accountant and outgoing President leading the search at the time. Of course the account likes we can get CMN on the cheap. What does any college president know about football? Thrasher was a good overall president, but he knows nothing about football. Coburn is a good accountant, but he certainly knows nothing about football. Hiring a search firm was the biggest joke I've ever seen. The search should have been let's look at all possible P5 coaching candidates. The one with the highest winning percentage who wants this job gets it. Why do you think UF is doing so well with Mullen "Cousin Eddy"? Because he was a proven winner and incredible coach at MSU looking to make the next step up. Why is scUM struggling so much with Diaz? Because he's not a proven P5 winner.

So what do we do now? First, we need to hire a freaking AD already. Coburn has been an AD far too long. I realize McCullough has only been president for a little over a month, but for goodness sake hiring an AD should be his #1 priority. Hopefully FSU makes a good AD hire who realizes football is #1 at FSU and it always will be. Football is #1 in revenue to the athletic department and to the economy of Tallahassee. We can't have 3-6 and 1-11 seasons and expect to generate enough revenue to sustain a climb back. Vegas had the FSU win total at 5 before the season, so anything less than that is on CMN and his staff IMO. On day one this AD needs to start holding CMN accountable for these horrible performances on the field. Then it's the ADs job to fix what's broken so we can start moving in the right direction. How do you stop the bleeding? Evaluate all the weaknesses of the program right now, then purge what's not working. As an outsider looking in, Fuller is definitely not working. Promote Shannon or even better can we hire a Muschamp? Ron Dugans is another one I'd purge. The WRs aren't close to their potential. Dilly should be put on notice, but I wouldn't fire him yet. Only because hiring a new OC is a delicate situation. What do you all think?

Chubba time!

We've seen enough of this two man competition with mediocre results. It's time to play the youngsters and see what the results yield. Obviously we are seeing what the ceiling is with both Travis and Milton, and I'm growing weery of seeing just enough out of them to get you thinking that it might be more to discover. Let Purdy and Rodemaker duel this one out for the rest of the season, move Travis to receiver and let's see what we can do from there. Hell, they can't do any worse than what we've seen in these first couple of games.

This is who we are!

So many posts about coaches, play calling, OC and DC. Even Ira, Aslan, Gene and Corey’s comments make it sound like it’s because of those factors. FSU should have won hands down last night, that’s not debatable. Terrible coaching and play calling. But Folks, we don’t have the talent to beat most of the teams on our schedule and that’s playing and coaching our best. Bobby use to say that coaching only goes so far; you can’t win the race without the horses! We don’t have the horses the other teams on our schedule have and that’s why the concern about how our recruiting commitments react to this debacle of a loss is so important.

3 TO's 3 Consecutive Plays

Milton had 3 turnovers, 3 Consecutive Plays. That's unheard of. We can sit here and blame X, Y, and Z all day. But at the end of the day- players have to make plays, they have to execute. We had some drives in the second half, and win or lose, executing on those drives puts us in a position. We did that against ND and made a comeback. This wasn't so much different other than just not executing at the end of a few drives. Confidence depleted. Trust lacking at that point. There's no doubt the coaches have to commit to a QB. They also have to know that Travis is likely to get beaten up with his mobility so you gotta just let him play through as long as he says he can. Just watched Louisville's QB play through pain this past week and it made everyone else fight that much harder too. Also, these coaches have to ask at some point, Milton or Purdy? I think we all know it's not just about winning now. Milton is a now thing, and Purdy is a develope for the future deal. He's got the skill set. Regardless of whatever happens I will be a Nole for Life. Im blessed to be alive and be able to watch. My son, myself, and my parents (who met at FSU in the 80's) are all coming to the Louisville game. Traveling from Kansas! This will be both my son's and my first game at Doak. My Dad always talks about how he was part of the first Warchant ever vs. Auburn and he has stories for days upon days. I do wish we had more of an exciting season so our trip had more behind it but who knew we would be 0-3 for the first time since 76.

Any GameDay/Game Weekend suggestions is definitely appreciated!

Message for Norvell

When we winning, our stadium and fan base is the best in the world. When we see abysmal production, coupled with losses, you will slowly loose the fan base including people at the games. Its great when we win, but when we lose, it's going to be really tough on you and the pressure to perform is nothing you have ever experienced. Well im sure he is feeling some if it now. I still support you entirely but we want our program to not be the laughing stock of football. So tired of hearing from coworkers and friends about how bad and how incompetent we look on Saturday. Were trying to be ALL IN and I still am. I belive in you.

Jimbo to Willie to Norvell

FSU‘s football program was victim of Jimbo allowing it to become a train wreck. Then Willie committed gross coaching malpractice with the ruble Jimbo left.

Anyone who thought Norvell could take over the mess he inherited during a once in a century pandemic and somehow quickly fix at least a half decade of his predecessors’ malfeasance was doomed to be disappointed.

Whether Norvell can get the program fully heading in the right direction remains to be seen. Patience please.

Some things that would help IMO

1 - brutal honesty from norvell. No more cute cliches, call it like it is. This is a bad football team in full rebuild mode. Time to go back to basics with everyone and acknowledge what is plainly clear; we have a road ahead

2- youth movement. Not just at qb where we need to see a lot more of purdy and Tate, but across the board. I’d rather watch freshman play bad but gain experience than what 4-5th year guys play bad knowing they’ll they have no benefit to the future of the program

the last thing we as fans want is to be told not to believe what we see. It’s a rebuild, call it that. Don’t try and get cute with it like “we’re two plays away from 2-0” crap. Playing the young guys makes it easier to tell your recruits “see…come in and you’ll play right away” which is just about all we have to sell

will it help us win more games this year? Not likely, but we aren’t winning games either way. So let’s work towards the future and see what we have with the young guys
