What this coaching staff fails to understand is the “analytics” about going for it on 4th down are apparently done in a bubble for that exact down and distance. Had we punted on 4th down and had Louisville pinned back inside their own 15 yard line, it would force a different set of offensive play calls from Louisville, and even if they got a first down or maybe even two and then were stopped and punted, FSU would now have the ball at their best starting point of the game. Instead, Louisville starts this possession almost in scoring position. And even if FSU converted that 4th down, it wouldn’t have put FSU in a guaranteed scoring position and we may have ended up punting anyway. Instead, we’re now down 17-0
