If we are not counting on JT to throw, then why do we care if he goes out of the game or not? I say this because Purdy can run. So, what is the difference? If the game plan is to throw short passes and run the ball there really is no difference. Granted, Travis probably is a better Runner, but from all accounts Purdy is no slouch.

Listening to Wake up Warchant this morning and at the 11:50 mark of the show Corey pretty much sums up what I've always thought about Purdy's potential. Go Listen to it. Like I've predicted before, our QB to get us back is not on this roster yet. Norvell needs to consider bringing in another transfer this offseason because if he doesn't it will cost him his job after next season IMHO.

Everyone keeps saying we are young. No we aren't lol if you look at their (rfr) line it's misleading because of transfer rules and also covid. Travis is listed as Rso but is academically a senior. The entire oline is north of 3rd year guys with 5th and 6th year also. Dline same thing. RBs same...WRs outside of Malik all upperclassmen...LBer same.. DBs same. Now I am talking about the majority of the starting guys or guys that get the most snaps. We have seldom true freshmen out there. We are littered with what is considered upperclassmen.

Keep in mind the designation beside the name is not accurate when looking at the depth chart

We have conceded we aren't very talented. Why is that? Older players who've not developed for what could be a plethora of reasons; injuries; weaknesses in key position groups. People have started looking forward to next year, asking what needs we have, whether we should pursue through the portal again. It got me thinking about the roster makeup, & who's responsible. Let's take a look.

Note, the 2020 class is listed as Norvell's because he signed off on each one, but I put an asterisk by the players from that class who actually committed to Taggart.

Please correct any that I have incorrect.

I think the make up is interesting. A little better than half the starters were at FSU before Norvell got here (lots of injuries; I italicized guys who would normally start if not for injury, taking a few liberties such as marking Milton that way), but the majority of the roster is made up of Norvell's players. If we aren't talented, like many say, do we need to question Norvell's eye for talent? Or our staff's inability to develop? Or do we just need to be patient to see if the first & second year guys get there eventually? I feel it's the last one -- we need to be patient. He's shown with the Tribe 22 class what his vision is for remaking the roster & filling holes; you can see what he wants to accomplish with the number of OL & DL as well as the star power at the glamour positions like DB & QB. Further, the '20 & '21 classes have a few starters & contributors already who need to get that experience.

This is a long rebuild. We don’t have players at any level in any position group who can be trusted to win their assignments.

On offense, we don’t do anything well on a consistent basis. Our OL is bad and banged up. Our WR and TR can’t win at point of attack. Our QBs are terrible. Literally the only thing we have on offense is two RBs who can only do so much behind this OL.

On defense, we can only rely on our DL unit. I cannot name one player behind our DL who has performed.

This is a long rebuild.

So let’s sum this one up. Our guys got bigger and better over the off season and we added a legit starter with the Notre Dame transfer but since game one multiple starters are injured (some playing through injury) so we haven’t had even one game of our regular starters playing at full strength.
