ND goal line 2020 vs JSU :06

I hadn't watched the replay for good reason. Just watched it. Head scratcher for me is the effort. CMN had me sold on the fact that we might not win but we'd darn sure give great effort. I saw that all last year and it actually got me excited. Especially the ND stand with the game out of reach.

The last play vs JSU flushed all of that after rewatching. Color me very concerned. That play screams disinterest and not near the "buy in" we have been sold on these boards by this team. We all know we're in trouble. This Saturday will cement just how much trouble we're really in and the effort will be the tell tale sign.

ACCN (FSU v Jax St) on Hotwire

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I can watch the game tonight without having to pay for a streaming service (like FUBO).

If you have Hotwire, the ACCN is on 446. Illinois and Virginia are on now. It shows FSU game scheduled to broadcast at 8:00.

Before paying for a streaming service, check your cable provider. It might just be there. Or, it appears you can watch through the ESPN app by logging into your cable account.

Go Noles!

Give this team and coaches some time...

Before the season, this team had an over under from Vegas at 5.5. They are still around that number. This team had a complete roster flip. Norvell inherited a completely bare lineup with the worst talent we have had in 30 years. While we had an exceptional off season in the transfer portal to add talent (something like 8 of our top 10 players are all transfers) it will still take time.

We are 2 plays away from being 2-0. I understand the amazing effort given during the ND game gave us a bit of false hope of a quicker turnaround but we are still a ways away from being a good team. That JSU game was a terrible fluke ending and an overall bad game, but that’s one game.

Give this team and coaches a little more time to figure out how to close out games and how to win. Once they do, it will really be fun to watch.

QB Discussion

My apologies if this has already been posted, asked, and/or asked. But in that debacle last week when the QB's were in discussions with Norvell on the sideline, it appeared by the body language and reaction from Norvell that JT may have said something or reacted in a way that wasn't favorable. I could be totally wrong, but something didn't look right with that exchange. Does anyone have additional info or insight?

A different view...

Just a bit of a counter view on things.

If you would have taken a poll of Nole Nation prior to the ND game, and laid out the following scenario...

- Noles battle back from 18 down (something recent teams would have only dreamed of) and take ND to OT, only to lose on a missed kick. I still think if we win the toss and go on D first, we win that game!
- Noles have a serious hang-over (just as ND did with Toledo), but hang on to beat Jax St. by 3.

I think the large majority of the fan base, while maybe not happy squeaking by a FCS opponent (but this seems to happen much more often in CFB than before), I think most would have taken it. I know I would have.

Now, I FULLY realize the second point didn't happen, but we were one tackle away, and a poor defensive call from having this scenario play out. I also fully recognize you are what your record says you are, and in our case, we are 0-2.

I am certainly just as disappointed/frustrated as my Nole brethren, but let's open up ACC play in Winston-Salem this week and see what the product is on the field, and then make some additional conclusions. I personally think the team is going to play well and possibly come out with a W. If the opposite happens, and we get boat raced, then we have many more and larger concerns obviously.

I know others will blast this, but just trying to take a balanced view. I am just really curious what happens this weekend.

Go Noles!

What's better/worse from a year ago?

Obviously the overall record and play calling is worse. I still argue that overall, this team is better than a year ago though the results, save a few plays, haven't shown on the scoreboard. trying to be positive here....

Better
- QB play
- Running backs
- Punting
- Defensive Sacks
- Strength & Conditioning
- Team Effort
- Recruiting
- Overall defense (21pts off TOs vs ND)

Worse
- W/L Record
- Coaching/Play calling - Better play-calling and we're 2-0
- Penalties

This is the kind of play that makes me say “how do we even let this guy stay in the program?”

It is incredibly disappointing as I was very excited about his transfer, but that kind of effort is pathetic and while we shouldn’t have even been in that position, how in the world can you be doing that on the FINAL play of the game. Just smh

Milton v JT

I absolutely believe Milton is the better of the 2 QBs. That said, we have seen more explosive plays with JT at QB.

With our lack of discipline and depth on the OL and receivers who inexplicably cant get open even with tons of time, can we sustain drives with Milton at QB?

As much as I think Milton is the better QB, I am still wondering if we put up more points with Travis at QB, particularly if he can limit / avoid the turnovers.

Leak-Tebow 2 QB system

Clearly i’m desperate here for answers and I went back and watched film of how they pulled this off…

it was all about field position with their system so each QB had buy in and a reason to perfect their craft.

Leak obvious passing QB would run the offense from their own 1 yd line to the opponents red zone…

tebow came in for short yardage situational work, and red zone offense.

Worked beautifully to the tune of a national championship.

Difference is I’m not a coach getting paid millions of dollars so I have humility and went searching for answers and found them. Norvell & Co, listen up we need to see some soul searching, reality-based offense, and results.
