    Work comp question

Really depends on how much your employer wants to fight it. They can easily argue it is the type of car you chose to drive vs. a physical injury on the job. You should post it over on HROT and you'll get more responses. Everyone is jumping ship

    PUI: my kid's ACT score

Seems like a lot of schools have eliminated any firm criteria for admission. There are a bunch of blogs that will point out the admission statistics. Best bet is to send out a lot of early applications. Seems like most schools are a little more flexible with early apps. Depending on the...

    PUI: my kid's ACT score

I applaud you for not forcing too many things on her. A lot of people do and screw their kids up. However, most of the schools she’ll be looking at are going to look beyond academics for admission. They turn down kids all the time with perfect scores because they didn’t do anything outside of...

    PUI: my kid's ACT score

What extra curricular activities is she into? There are lots of scholarship and grants available for extras. Also, I read somewhere that Rice will waive tuition for students that meet a certain academic standard (no clue what that would be).

    PUI: my kid's ACT score

Just about every top school has ways to help you pay for tuition. Getting in is really the hardest part. Schools like Yale and Stanford are competing to get the best of the best. If she is one of them, they'll figure out a way to pay for whatever you can't afford.

    PUI: my kid's ACT score

Congrats. That’s very impressive. Is she going to take the SAT as well? Probably won’t need to.

Annoying stuff your house guests do

My wife, SIL, and MIL will do this but put them back in the fridge. I will then knock them over trying to navigate something out without moving several cans. I started buying the mini cans. My SIL complains about that. Side note: my MIL now buys the mini bottles of beer for me when I come to...

    #100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

Is it Frey or is it that outsiders see the program and coaches as a disorganized mess? WT is known as an elite recruiter and certainly didn't produce elite results. It wouldn't be hard for other programs to show recruits some tape from this year and see if they want to play for those coaches...

    Is GoFundMe Replacing Insurance?

I see your point of view. There are other details I've left out. She is definitely more of the stay home, work out, go shopping, stay at home wife than needing to spend time with their son. She doesn't pick him up until 5:30 after school.

    Is GoFundMe Replacing Insurance?

I almost posted this topic a few weeks back. A guy I know set one up for his fiance's daughter. She had an accident and the mom has some hefty medical bills. She has insurance, but still has a lot of out of pocket expenses. So they have this GFM setup to raise money to pay for the expenses...

A fun article for debate: old ballplayers vs current

It's tough to compare eras due to so many differences in the game. The one thing about the Babe that makes me think he'd be just as good as the best hitters today (with access to the same equipment and training) was his approach. While many players had swings that weren't very athletic and...

Harold Baines was elected into the baseball HOF?

So should Mike Greenwell get in? He was a better hitter than Baines and didn't DH nearly as much.

Harold Baines was elected into the baseball HOF?

Who are 5 better OF'ers than Bonds in that era? I hated Bonds before and after the juice. But IMO he was absolutely one of the best players in the game.

Anyone here losing interest in college football?

I have lost interest in general in football. Some of it is due to the reasons you mentioned. I guess most programs just need to realize that the slight hope they have of winning will fade away a little more each year. I think the biggest reason of losing interest is that I'm busy most of the...

    Scotch Drinkers...

They are very different. I generally prefer a Blanton's over any scotch. I've only tried 20 or so scotches, so I'm no expert.

Balvenie is a decent daily. I think it's around that range. I haven't looked at the price in years.

    Mass shooting in Midtown

I don’t recall hearing “he was such a nice guy,” but I have seen a lot of “We all thought he was messed up and dangerous”. Some of if not a majority of these can be identified at a very early age. This one could be different in that it was fueled by jealousy or relationship problems. The...
