Are you taking any trips in 2023?

Near Washington D.C.
I went to southern Brazil right before covid hit. I haven't taken any trips since.

My college roommate just bought a house in Curacao. It's an island near Aruba and Venezuela.

I'm going there in the spring or summer.

Anyone taking any trips?

This is through June. Hopefully another Tallahassee trip in the fall. Boston and Dublin are also great possibilities later in the year. It is a gift that our 7 year old loves to travel. Amazing what an I Pad, Ginger Ale and some Cheezits will do to get a kid through a flight.
Brazil is an interesting place. In one day I had a gun pulled on me, nearly drowned and got a form of montezumas revenge. Still one of the most beautiful places in the world. And don’t get me started about the beach attire. 😁

That's a lotta travel!

Where in Brazil did you go?

I went to Santa Catarina. I was there for a wedding for a week. It rained 2 days.

Rio. In my younger years I was invited to play a friendly against Vasco da Gama to play football (soccer). The economy was different and was certainly an eye opening experience. Hoping to go back some day to see it through grown up eyes.

Alaska cruise rail tour in September. Leave Vancouver and cruise to Anchorage with stops along the way. Rail/tour bus Anchorage to Fairbanks with stops along the way. Looking forward to Denali.
Denali is beautiful. We did a plane tour out of Talkeetna that flew over the range for a couple of hours. How long will you be in Fairbanks? There's a lot to do there. Check out the HooDoo Brewery if you have a chance.

Mrs. No Pics Ed is going to Switzerland for a week in March.

I'm saving my vacay days for next season's run for the Natty in Tally.
Switzerland is beautiful. Did two weeks over the summer last year. Zurich/Basel - Lucerne - Interlaken - Geneva. So much we didn't get to.
Have a great trip!

Mrs. Rtpnole works for a Swiss company in Zurich so she goes quite a bit. Nice destinations everywhere. It’s cool to get on the train on Zurich where they’re speaking German and get off in Geneva where they speak French.

Ill just list overseas stuff to keep it short. For work Tokyo, Bahrain, Germany, Italy and London. For time off going to Curacao, Sicily and a trip to Portugal and Morocco.

A lot of my travel involves scenic I-10 between Jacksonville and Tally. During football season. 🤨
I heard the Buc-cees stop is just fantastic. I hear they are as busy as beavers there. Captain's Log: Stardate 2023. Its five year mission; to boldly go where no man has gone before; or Sopchoppy in the Spring.

Possibly an overseas trip for the no pic wife’s 40th. (Covid screwed up my 40th)

Tallahassee 8 times (Mom's weekend, graduation, Football) Multiple Busy Bee or Bucee's stops, depending on travel route. I have found I-95 from here isn't all that bad!

March going on a cruise on the Danube between Germany and Budapest, staying in Budapest a few nights. Quick tour of Dachau the day we land before boarding the ship.

16 days in Italy for a graduation trip in July, just me and the daughter. Rome-Sorrento-Florence-Cinque Terra-Milan-Venice

Bristol Tennessee in September for the annual Redneck racing weekend. Daytona and Homestead for that as well.

I assume a trip to a big city to move in for law school. location TBA.

Usually do many weekend trips as well throughout the year, but this year March and July are the 2 biggies.

Just booked our first trip of the year, a long weekend to Vegas shortly after end of tax season. Staying at the Mirage one last time - it was bought by Hard Rock & late this year they're going to begin a major renovation to turn it into a Hard Rock Casino, with the big guitar design.

I’ve never been to one but I “hear” that the use of ear plugs is pretty common.
I have headphones with a radio in them so we can keep up with what's going on. It's very loud at Texas Motor Speedway.
Daytona is much more open and a lot bigger so you may not need them but it is still hard to hear the announcer with the cars going by.

Will you hit the Casinos?

What's your favorite game?

How much do you wager?

Have you won or lost over the years?

I played roulette maybe 4 times and lost a hundred bucks 3 out of 4 times.
I have had some luck at the craps table over the years. Simple formula, don’t play on an empty table. I lurk and wait for someone to get on a roll. Paid for our bar tab on our last cruise ($1000 +). Not scientific but it has worked well over the years.

I'm a low roller; I prefer to find small dollar tables ($5 minimum bets). I typically bet the table minimum on the pass line, then put odds $ behind it once the point is established. Then I'll do the same with one or two come bets (bet the minimum, back it with odds after the point).
I rarely win big, but I rarely lose big. Betting in the fashion that I do is the closest you can come to even odds in a casino, unless you know how to count cards on the blackjack table without getting caught & asked to leave.

I like your style.

For my 30th birthday, I went to one of the new casinos in Maryland.

They had a $50 minimum roll on roulette.

What a scam.
