Just announced that Miami will be home port for those who love to cruise and are up for a 145 day around the world trip.
I think ten days might be my limit - and not all the Earth’s waters are as “calm” as the Caribbean or the Mediterranean. The videos I see on Facebook of storms and those “rogue waves” are nightmarish. No thanks.
Has anyone ever been on such a cruise, besides maybe a military deployment?

My sister and BiL were invited to go on a similar cruise with her best friend. They thought long and hard about it but ended up declining due to my BiL's mild dementia. They thought it would be too much for him.

We've been on a 14 day cruise which was too long for me but not long enough for my wife.

I’m sitting at the airport now headed for a 10 day cruise around the Mediterranean - my #1 bucket list thing will be an excursion to Pompeii. 🛳️

We leave June 7 for an 11 day Danube cruise through Hungary, Slovenia, Austria and up to Munich for departure. Hard as it seems to believe, this will be my first time using a passport, and really looking forward to it.

Next year we fly into Istanbul where we'll spend several days before boarding the ship and ending 12 days later in Italy. We're then spending several days there before coming home.

My folks did a similar trip and loved it. Hope you and your bride do too.
She'd better enjoy it. She put the whole packaged together from start to finish. All I had to do was pay for it, which was a bit of a shock, but what the hell. We're retired, our boys are doing well out on their own, and it's time we started spending some of that filthy lucre. Looks like she's putting together a cruise out of Lauderdale to Mexico, Belize, Costa Rica, and then through the Panama Canal, from where we fly back. After that, I want Australia and New Zealand.

Spain France (Corsica) Greece and Italy.

Enjoy your trip. We spent a couple of weeks in Italy last year & did a day trip to Pompeii, it was extremely interesting.

Where in Greece do you stop, islands or Athens? Santorini is beautiful. We also spent some time in Athens when we were in Greece a few years ago, which I also found to be outstanding.

We visit Santorini, Mykonos and Athens.

Just got back from Rome and Naples for work. Was crazy over there with all the Pope stuff going on. Heading to Sorrento next week for vacation. Cant wait. We're flying into Frankfurt and taking the train to Italy making stops along the way avoiding the tourists as best we can.

We took the train from Aviano (Pordenone) to Rome in 1976. First mistake was buying coach tickets. Had to sit on the floor as it was full, but we had a couple of bottles of Mateus and some Gouda cheese so it went OK. Bought First Class tickets for the return.
Just got back from a Corvette cruise to Big Bend Nat. Park with my Corvette club. Hit some caverns on the way back. Had a good time and didn't get seasick.

I’m home and have recovered from jet lag.
It was fabulous and I’m so glad I went.
The Coliseum was incredible and when you first walk in it just resembles the stadium concourses in older football stadiums - fascinating. Pompeii was just amazing. Athens and the Acropolis was beautiful and the climb to the top is a killer but so worth it.
Vatican City was amazing. And the food was spectacular.

We leave Sunday for our Danube tour. I hope it's as exciting as yours must have been.

The view in Santorini of the water is amazing. Just be ready for the overwhelming commercial atmosphere.
Mykonos was very cool, though. And Athens is also fantastic. The Greeks are truly welcoming and friendly.

Cool. We’re leaving for Greece in two weeks. Doing a cruise on Windstar. After we get off in Venice, going to taste wine in Valpolicella. Should be great.
