I've been a season ticket holder for 25 years & I came to the conclusion early in this season that I needed to cut my losses with this team until they earn me investing more of my valuable time above and beyond my season tickets and booster support. Couldn't make BC. Skipped Memphis to celebrate a friend's Bday & was glad I didn't waste time watching one play of that game. Watched Cal on TV and walked away feeling that Cal should've won that game. Watched every miserable play of the SMU, Clemson & Duke games. I sold my $125 Clemson tix for $35 each which was fair market value & a damning indicator of how bad this team is. Watched the 1st quarter of the Miami game before going out to dinner with friends during the freaking FSU/Miami game which was unthinkable until this year! This will be the first season in over 30 years I don't see the Noles play in person. I expect the UNC game to resemble 2 one legged men in an ass kicking contest. I can't stand to go watch this team ek out a win against Charleston Southern. This team doesn't warrant me dealing with Thanksgiving traffic to watch them trip over their shoe laces & lose to a mediocre Gator team in Doak.
It saddens me to say I can't wait for this miserable season to be over. These upperclassmen are my least favorite group of players to ever wear the garnett & gold save a handful (Toafili, Douglas, Fitz & Mastramano). There is no leadership, pride or sense of duty on this team. The Oline is a disaster in both run and pass blocking, WRs are going to kill multiple drives a game and it doesn't matter who you put behind that line at QB, they can't be successful under these circumstances. We all know (as do all of our opponents) that this offense is not going to score more than 17 points, lose field position and continually put a mediocre defense in horrible positions every game. The front 7 on defense have been disappointing most of the year with some individuals flashing here and there. It is clear this coaching staff has no answers and is along for the ride. I don't need to hear anymore coach speak or platitudes from CNM! We all know what he is going to say and it doesn't match up with the receipts. I feel bad for the reporters that have to sit in those press conferences and listen to the same coach speak week in and week out. IMO this is the worst FSU team of all time because none has done less, with more "talent" on paper than this group of upperclassmen and Coaches.
This feels like we're all passengers on a plane that is going down, out of control and we are just waiting in what seems to be an eternity for impact with the ground. We also know that CNM is not going any where for multiple years so we're stuck with him trying to rebuild this program for a 2nd time in 5 years. I've been a big supporter of his despite some questionable calls in his first 4 years that I chalked up to learning moments for a coach coming from G5. Is it possible that when the smoke settles after the transfer portal & ESD, that CNM will be starting from a worse position than when he first arrived here 5 years ago? After last year's success that was unthinkable but now a possibility. Many of the most talented returning players are surely going to be taking a serious look at weather they should stick around for a 2nd attempt at rebuilding this program or eject and find a better situation. If Brock or Luke were my son's I would have SERIOUS concerns about what FSU is going to trot out in front of them next year. I don't see how this isn't a multi year rebuild that will be even harder now that the country has watched CNM's program collapse after a 13-1 season. I'll always be a Nole fan but also try to be objective. I have settled in mentally for what I anticipate to be a tough handful of years which is so disappointing after the success we watched the last 2 seasons. God Bless you guys still making the long drive & investing more of your hard earned money to go to Tallahassee & watch this clown show. Go Noles but keeping it real.
