When evaluating classes you really need to do it over a two year stretch. So our breakdown will be of the 2024-25 classes. I really don't care about class ranking as much as looking for key ingredients to those classes. My number one thing for classes is BALANCE. I want to see if you sign players at each position. Did you fit your needs at each position? I like to see that you did not sign 5 players one year and zero the next. How classes stack up will determine a team’s success. Yes, even if the day and age where players come and go you still want to see retention on the roster more than turnover. Let’s look into the 24-25 classes. FSU is not done. They have until Friday to add more pieces to the 25 class. They will also re-evaluate players who did not sign and see if they can add to the roster. FSU needs to get to 105 players. To do so there will have to be players added through the portal and hs ranks.
QB
Kevin Sperry - (Denton, TX) 6'1-200 (4) (25)
Luke Kromenhoek (Savannah, GA) 6'3-190 (4) (24)
Grade: B - From what we saw of Luke this past season there is enough there to feel good about his potential down the road. I still feel he is another year of grooming before being able to be the full time starter. He has the physical tools. Luke is athletic enough to design runs for him. He has a strong enough arm to make the throws needed from him. My player comp (Ryan Tannehill/Blake Bortles) Sperry is a live arm and someone that should provide some a quality backup.
RB
Ousmane Kromah -(Leesburg, GA) 6'2-220 (4) (25)
Micahi Danzy -(Tallahassee, FL ) 6'1-175 (4) (24)
Kam Davis-(Albany, GA) 5'10-210 (4) (24)
Grade: A - Kromah has the potential to be a day one starter next year. I really think if he can pick up the offense, Kromah could start. He should be able to get into the rotation right away. He brings a back with power. He can run over a defender. He has great feet. He can cut on a dime. I like his potential and he was the GUY, I wanted. Danzy is going to be the guy everyone on this site becomes a fan of. Danzy has different level speed. Once FSU unleashes that potential, watch out. Davis is a ground and pound back. I like his toughness. I like how hard he runs. Davis will excel is GUS offense.
WR
Jayvn Boggs: (Cocoa, FL) 6'1-190 (4) (25)
Jordan Scott: (Summit, MS) 6'7-215 (3) (25) Juco
Teriq Mallory: (Chesire, CT) 6'5-190 (3) (25)
Tae'Shaun Gelsey: (Jacksonville, FL) 6'4-210 (4) (25)
Teddy Hoffmann: (Delray, FL) 6'0-175 (3) (25)
Elijah Moore: (Olney, MD) 6'3-190 (4) (24)
BJ Gibson: (Rochelle, GA) 6'0-190 (4) (24)
Lawayne McCoy: (Miami, FL) 6'1-170 (4) (24)
Camdon Frier: (Lake City, FL) 6'1-170 (4) (24)
Grade B -Considering that FSU had no WR commits two weeks ago, the Seminoles closed well. There are no sure fire number one guys in this two year haul. You hear about Moore potential. That scares me as we also heard about All Day Dre until it was no Day Dre and the kid was leaving. I do think there is some potential. You sign this many guys over two years 2-3 guys have to emerge. I really would like to see FSU hit the portal and see if they can get a number one receiver.
TE
Chase Loftin: (Omaha, NE) 6'5-215 (4) (25)
Landen Thomas: (Moultrie, GA) 6'4-220 (24)
Amare Williams: (Palm Beach, FL) 6'5-210 (24)
Grade A: It took awhile but Mike finally has gotten this position right. He likes to use 2 and 3 TE sets. He can now officially do this. I do think another TE out of the portal is important. I expect FSU to go after a portal TE. Watching Kyle Morlock drop passes this season was hard to do. I like Loftin potential. Thomas and Williams are going to be good. This position seems to be in good hands.
OL
Sean Poret: (Atlanta, GA) 6'4-280 (3) (25)
Mario Nash: (DeKalb, MS) 6'5-290 (4) (25)
Jayden Todd: (Dublin, GA) 6'6-320 (3) (24)
Manasse Itete: (Modesto, CA) 6'7-290 (3) (24)
Tye Hylton: (Oviedo, FL) 6'4-270 (3) (24)
Jonathan Daniels: (Pensacola, FL) 6'3-290 (4) (24)
Grade C: I could have gone to a D. If I have a concern for a position group this is it. Lots of projects. Outside of Itete, FSU has not signed a single OT prospect. Hopefully they pull the UCF kid in the fold as they need size and length. I believe 1) sign as many OL as you can, 2) size matters. They need to get bigger on the OL. Loses Thomas hurts especially after the kid basically said FSU is where he wanted to be. Not landing guys like Buchanan and Addison who were both heavy leans prior to the season hurts as well. PORTAL here we come.
DE
Darryl Desir: (Miami, FL) 6'4-225 (3) (25)
DD Holmes: (Washington, DC) 6'6-240 (3) (24)
Grade D: There is no way to slice this, FSU missed at DE. They could have taken Nick Clayton. They could have taken many other defensive ends. Seeing Hilson end up at Missouri is a tough pill to take. You needed a pass rusher and got none. Desir and Holmes will probably give you something in the run game. Neither is an elite pass rusher. FSU is going to raid Nebraska roster. I really would like to Ny Kelly as a portal take.
DT
Mandrell Desir: (Miami, FL) 6'3-234 (3) (25)
Kevin Wynn: (Greesboro, GA) 6'4-320 (4) (25)
Tyeland Coleman: (Seatobia, MS) 6'4-290 (3) (25) Juco
Jamorie Flagg: (Miami, FL) 6'3-290 (3) (24)
D'Nas White: (Concord, FL) 6'6-315 (3) (24)
Grade C: FSU has bodies....Now we need to see if any of them can play. Coleman the Juco prospect must be a day 1 starter or contributor. There is no time to waste with Juco guys. I do think Wynn can be a rotational player. FSU needs to find someone or two in the portal.
LB
Ethan Pritchard: (Sanford, FL) 6'2-200 (25)
Jayden Parrish: (Delray Beach, FL) 6'2-210 (3) (24)
T. Hickman Collins: (Fort Mill, SC) 6'0-210 (3) (24)
Grade C+ - Landing Wallace would have pushed this grade to a B. I like Pritchard because of what he brings from a range standpoint. FSU new scheme ask their backers to do a lot and Ethan can fit the bill. Parrish is another very good athlete. I like the room but still think they could have added to it.
S
Max Redmon: (Palm Beach, FL) 6'2-190 (3) (25)
Jamari Howard: (Miami, FL) 6'3-180 (4) (24)
Grade B: Redmon is a favorite of mine in this class. He is big, long and athletic. Howard before being hurt this off-season was on pace to becoming a contributor this past year. He does not mind coming up and hitting. FSU could use some of that in the secondary. You would like for them to have landed another safety. Two over two years is not ideal. The CB room is stacked so you could always move some over there.
CB
Shamar Arnoux: (Carrollton, GA) 6'2-180 (4) (25)
Gregory Thomas: (Plantation, FL) 6'2-200 (4) (25)
Cai Bates: (Orlando, FL) 6'2-180 (4) (24)
Charles Lester: (Venice, FL) 6'2-180 (4) (24)
Ricky Knight: (Palm Beach, FL) 6'0-175 (4) (24)
Grade A: FSU has recruited CB very well. Lester and Knight have flashed in practice. Bates is a big, physical kid that can end up a very good player. Thomas has shined this year for Heritage. Arnoux the Noles stole on NSD. I think the potential for the future is bright. FSU has one of the best Corner rooms in the nation.
K/P
Brunno Reus: (Venice, FL) 6'0-190: (2) (25)
Jake Weinberg: (Delray Beach, FL ) 5'10-160 (2) (24)
QB
Kevin Sperry - (Denton, TX) 6'1-200 (4) (25)
