Sunday's game will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra at 2 p.m. Ariya Massoudi and our good friend Bob Thomas will be on the radio call.

Some notes via FSU sports information:

Florida State Women’s Basketball looks for a 3-0 start to the season when it hosts Georgia State on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. A win over the Panthers (1-1) would mark FSU’s fifth 3-0 start in its last six seasons.

The Seminoles (2-0) served up a dominant fourth-quarter effort on defense in their 80-71 win at Kent State on Thursday night. Florida State held the Golden Flashes to just 3-of-14 shooting (14.3 percent) in the quarter and did not allow them to score in the first 5.5 minutes of action. Kent State went scoreless on its first 11 possessions in the fourth.

Guard Ta’Niya Latson dropped 34 points at Kent State on Thursday night, the most points by an FSU freshman in a game since program all-time leader Sue Galkantas (GALE-CAN-TUSS) had 34 as a freshman vs. Florida A&M on Jan. 14, 1981. Galkantas holds the freshman single-game scoring record at Florida State, recording 37 points vs. Florida on Dec. 3, 1980.

Latson has averaged 31.0 points per game through the first two games of her FSU career. Of Florida State’s Top 10 all-time scorers in school history, Galkantas ranks the highest in points-per-game average through her first two games with 24.0 points. Against Kent State, Latson recorded her 34th point with 6:46 remaining on a 3-point field goal, but left the game after fouling out with 4:39 left. Latson was very much within striking distance of breaking Natasha Howard’s school record of 40 points (at Syracuse on Feb. 13, 2014).

With Georgia State based in Atlanta, there are some Atlanta connections with the Seminoles. Both freshman Brianna “Snoop” Turnage and Latson played together at Westlake High School, winning the GEICO Nationals title in the 2020-21 season. Turnage shot 47 percent in her four-year career with Westlake.

The Noles have four players averaging double figures through the first two games in Latson (31.0), Taylor O’Brien (15.0), Makayla Timpson (14.0) and Sara Bejedi (13.0).

Bejedi starting again in place of Massengill / Gordon. Wonder if either will play today?

Gordon making her first action of the season. Massengil has played as well so the noles have all 10 players available today.

Based on last game and this game, we are not a good defensive team and our half court offense seems to be to launch threes until they go in.

2point lead with 5mins left in the half.

Bejedi is now 2-21 from 3 on the season including 0-8 today..

Their 6-1 Post player off the bench has been killing our posts today.
