FSU sports information:
For the seventh time, the Florida State softball team will play in the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational from Feb. 13-16 at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater. The Seminoles will play four games in four days.
FSU will open the invitational on Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. against Missouri. The Tiger advanced to a Super Regional last season and was the No. 7 overall seed in last year's NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles and Tigers have met 10 times before but just twice since 2021. The Seminoles hosted Missouri in the 2021 JoAnne Graf Classic where the teams split the two games.
FSU will then face Ohio State the next day at 2 p.m. This will be the second time that FSU has played Ohio State in Clearwater as the two teams met with 2019 with FSU winning 3-1. FSU leads the all-time series 11-3.
The Noles will be in primetime on both Saturday and Sunday night of the invitational as they will face Wichita State for just the second time in program history at 7 p.m. on Saturday . The Shockers finished 2024 with a 28-22 record and fell in the AAC Championship Game to Charlotte.
The Noles will round out the invitational on Sunday night at 8 p.m. against in-state foe UCF. The Knights have played in the Tallahassee Regional the last two seasons with FSU winning both games by a combined score of 10-2. Th two teams also met in the 2022 Clearwater Invitational with the Seminoles winning 8-0. FSU has won 14 consecutive games against the Knights and lead the all-time series 25-5.
Tickets for the Shriners Children's Clearwater Invitational will go on sale at 1 p.m. on Nov. 25.
