For some unknown reason, after seeing some McRib commercials, I am considering actually getting one. I liked them as a kid. When I last had one, over 10 years ago, I thought it was disgusting. Maybe it's just morbid curiosity to give it another try.

What does the Locker Room think about this unique culinary (using this term very loosely) creation?

The have been hammered in the past for having a huge chemistry set for an ingredients list - now they've really cleaned up their message -

They are really milking this "limited availability" schtick..."Confirmed" availability on their own website - as if they aren't shipped to the stores in McDonald's own trucks.

Random pig parts glued together to form a "rib". What could go wrong with that scenario?
Same thing as nearly any sausage and half of fast food chicken “nuggets”

Nothing wrong with a little mechanically processed meat every now and then.

I for one am getting one today.

I had one for the first time this past Friday. I asked the lady at the window if it was really any good. She told me it was so good it would make me want to slap someone. I was excited. I rushed home and took my first bite. I did not want to slap anyone. I think of it this way, if you are jonesing for BBQ but do not have access or are in a hurry, a McRib is an easy fix. Its good, but not great.

OMG. Getting ribs at McDonalds? What is wrong with you? :D Get a grip! :D

McHeartburn. Should’ve had one last night, washed down with a bottle of MadDog, while watching Willies Red Tide offense. Perfect match.

It’s nothing special but also not nearly as gross as people make it out to be. I hate onions and rather eat pickles on their own, so I get it plain.

They have better stuff on their menu - their triple cheeseburger, nuggets, fries, McMuffin ... not that any of it is particularly good and none good for you, but in a jam I’m fine with it.

McDonald's is one place I never ask for an alteration of a menu item. It's asking for disaster.

If I want mysterious meat I rather eat canned corned beef hash or potted meat

“Plain” is about the only way to get away with it. I like their BBQ sauce so I put it on pretty much anything I order there ... for an additional $0.10 per sauce :)

I always get one every year. I know they're terrible, but I loved them as a kid, and there's just something about the novelty.

I saw the same thing - Dare I chance that rubbery texture they sometimes offer? Pass
