For the sixth consecutive week, freshman guard Ta’Niya Latson has emerged as the ACC Rookie of the Week, announced on Monday by the conference.

Her latest honor puts her three away from tying for the most selections in a single season, which is nine. That honor is co-anchored by Duke’s Elizabeth Marshall (2011-12) and Wake Forest’s Tracy Connor (1992-93).

Latson averaged 24.5 points for the week, dropping 24 against ninth-ranked UConn. She also had 25 points in a mid-week win over Presbyterian.

She showed off her defensive prowess with 11 total steals in FSU’s two games, including eight against Presbyterian in what was the most by a Seminole since 2017.

Against the Blue Hose and the Huskies, Latson combined to go 15-of-17 from the free throw line as she continues to extend herself as the ACC’s leader in free throws made. She also leads the conference in scoring (25.3 points) and field goals made (117).

Latson now has 12 games this season with 20 or more points. The next closest player in the league is Louisville’s Hailey Van Lith, who owns seven 20-point games this year.

The Miami, Fla., native has proven to be arguably the nation’s most versatile scorer, being able to fill up the stat sheet at all three levels. She is the only player in the country who ranks in the Top three nationally in free throws made (2nd; 77) and field goals made (3rd; 117).

Latson and the Seminoles host Miami on Wednesday at Noon at the Donald L. Tucker Center in a key ACC-opening matchup.
