Florida State junior Luke Clanton and former Seminole Daniel Berger tied for second place at the RSM Classic at the Sea Island Golf Club on Sunday.

Sitting in seventh place to start the day at 11-under par, Clanton made a charge with back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11 to climb within one stroke of the leader. After a birdie on 16, Clanton jumped to a share of the lead at 16-under par.

After a bogey on the 18th, Clanton was in the clubhouse in a four-way tie for the lead, and Berger joined just after shooting 66, finishing at 15-under. With three other players hopeful for a playoff including Berger and Clanton, Maverick McNealy made a putt for birdie, claiming the win.

Clanton opened the tournament shooting 68 made and jumped into the top five in the second round after scoring 66. He posted a 68 in round three, and well within the leaders. His performance was his fourth top 10 PGA TOUR finish in 2024.

Berger made the cut after rounds of 71 and 66. On Saturday, Berger shot 63, jumping up all the way to third place at 12-under, securing a spot in the final group.

By placing second, Berger moved inside the top 125 to keep a full PGA TOUR card for 2025.

Clanton is one of 16 players invited to practice for the 2025 Walker Cup Match. The three days of practice will be held at the McArthur Golf Club, Seminole Golf Club and The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida, from Dec. 14-16.
