Whenever we play Wake Forest, it always reminds me of the very first game I attended at Doak.
It was 2008. My best friend and best man, invited me to go watch an FSU game with him because a family member decided not to go to the game. I had just become an FSU fan in 2007 (my first game I ever watched fully on TV was the 2002 champ game w/ Miami and tOsu) and I was pumped to be able to watch a live game of our beloved 'Noles. I watched, expectant of a demolition, but instead our team never reached the end-zone and scored a measly 3 points and suffered a crushing defeat (12-3 where Wake failed to make a TD as well...not very exciting). I loved every minute of the game and I am now a lifelong Seminole (a student and soon to be graduate). Even in such a humiliating defeat I was now addicted to Florida State Football. (My second game with the same friend was against J'ville St. where we had to come from behind to win in the rain.)
After seeing that loss, I take no win for granted and am thankful for the turnaround that our program has experienced at the hands of Jimbo Fisher and Co.
Thank you Wake Forest for playing a part in the reason I am a huge Seminole fan today!
