Noles playing well, the offense is humming! Feels like FSU is getting comfortable with Pensky’s press principles and transitioning quickly into the attack. 17 goals in their last 4 games. Wow.

2-0 Noles early in the 1st half. Echegini with a brace.

Our girls are really buying in to this steal the ball and attach immediately style that Brian favors.
2 really high level goals in the 1st half.
Hope we put the pedal to the metal in the 2nd half.

Have to say.

I am grateful for Mark Krikorian. He treated me with the utmost respect and was always open and honest during our broadcast meetings. His success speaks for itself and he’s arguably the greatest college coach of the modern era. But this philosophy and style Pensky has brought to Tallahassee is fun to watch. At times under Mark, if FSU didn’t have a clinical striker, they’d struggle to score against better competition. Lots of possession, but not enough offensive output. Was tough to watch the Noles just pass the ball around the edge of the 18, ending in a long distance, poor percentage shot. Again, FSU won so many games, it didn’t matter and success is success, no matter how you dice it.

This system preaches a high press and quick transitions that promote 2v1s and 3v2s. Friendlier to wingers, and strikers as well. That’s why you’re seeing so many clean looks at net. It’s like we went from old school Barcelona to Real Madrid.

Really excited about what Brian will bring and fans will love the aesthetic of how FSU plays. They may give up a few more goals due to numbers high up the pitch, being a little more vulnerable when they lose the ball in transition and being less compact than Mark’s defensive philosophies. Can Brian win the big ones? We will see, obviously Mark was elite at advancing deep every season and winning it a few times too.

Now if only Chelsea could find a manager with such a philosophy. 😆

Very impressive!
Can't argue with Coach K's success, but you also can't argue that Coach Pensky's style is way more
fan friendly.
The player appear to have 100% buy-in.
Now how do we handle to better teams in the conference.
