How many guys on this team that were recruited in high school would start for over half the teams in ACC (a conference that has been thoroughly embarrassed so far this year)? I hesitate to say maybe Travis Jay just based only on looks and potential. We have zero difference makers from our last 5 classes. Notre Dame looked like crap yesterday and I say we still only have 5 or less guys that would start for them.

In the last 4 years we have gone from losing in the 4th against Samford, to needing a missed PAT against ULM, to behind 14 to Jax State last year, to finally losing. Play with fire too long you always get burned.

There are really only two ways out. We get extremely lucky at QB or we get more talent. I am not happy with a lot of the personnel decisions by Norvell. I actually love that he makes decisions that statistically give us the best shot at winning. Fuller has done nothing to show that he isn’t in over his head. At this point we all just need to hope FSU can get enough lucky breaks this year that the Recruiting can start bringing us back.

This staff, although I haven’t completely given up on them, does not seem capable of winning with less talent. Guys like Fuller, Marve, Dugans have now gone through long periods with zero positives. In 2014 our LBs, OL, and Wrs sucked. We have not had a top half of the ACC caliber group in any of those rooms in over 7 years. If it wasn’t for Ramsey and a handful of games from Derwin I would say the same about the secondary.

We should be due for a lucky break. But if it worked that way Tennessee and Nebraska would have turned it around long ago.
