Freshman outside hitter Audrey Rothman was named the ACC Freshman of the Week after her stellar debut for the Garnet and Gold at the “Tribute to #10” tournament in Cincinnati, Ohio, this past weekend.

“Audrey had an amazing weekend and is only going to get better. She is a very humble person and a first-class role model. Her future is very bright both on and off the court,” coach Chris Poole said.

Rothman currently leads the Noles in three different categories after the first weekend of competition. Rothman tallied a team-high 34 kills, 30 digs and six aces in three matches for the Noles. Her standout game came against the Cincinnati Bearcats where she tallied 16 kills on 33 attempts. In Saturday’s match against Dayton, Rothman was phenomenal from the service line recording five aces against the Flyers. She also led the team in digs in the match with 13.

Rothman and the Noles will be back in action this Wednesday when they take on Florida A&M at Tully Gym. First serve is set for 6 p.m. with ACC Network Extra having the coverage.
