If anything ever showed how difficult it is to successfully defend GaTech's option with little time to prepare, these last two week's worth of defense from Notre Dame and Duke drove the point home. Two teams, the first with elite Seminole-level talent and the second with the Tech game an annual affair and, like him or not, coached by a venerable genius [Cutcliff] on the national scene, have played aggressive, smash-mouth yet disciplined team defense and made Tech's running game look....pedestrian for lack of a better term. Tech was beating its chest in walkover games against pansies Alcorn and Tulane, exceeding 60 points against each of 'em. Then they face highly-motivated and adequately talented defenses, unlike ours a year ago in Charlotte, that knew with much more than a week's notice they'd have to defend that novelty offense, and are beaten so soundly in each case that they are now searching for their manhood. From what I've seen so far our defense will deliver them exactly the same treatment if they too are [1] physical, [2] disciplined (what is that term? Oh yeah...EYE DISCIPLINE), and most importantly, play [3] team defense where everybody does their job, no free-lancing, show-boating, targeting, late sideline hits extending drives a la BC in 2013. I am more confident than ever that we enter Death Valley unbeaten to face Clemson. Great times, Seminole brethren....great times!
