I was fortunate to get an all expense paid trip to the Royal at Atlantis. I’ve only ever used the Bahamas as a hopping off point. Anybody have any recommendations or tips. I will be there for four days and three nights. Also, any cool local places off property worth a trip?

Be happy that it’s all expense paid. That place is expensive. $22 mimosas expensive

I didn't win a penny in their casino last time I went, but that was on slots. I would definitely stick to table games if you like to gamble.

One of my wife's friends got drugged and raped in a closet there. She won a decent little law suite about it.

Wife and friend decide to have brunch with mimosas while the guys were off doing something. Came back to find them very drunk and a bar tab that equaled the Bahamas’ GDP. To this day she asks for a price list at resorts rather than just ordering off the cuff.

Go to the Ocean Club. Walk around resort and eat at restaurant called Dune. Amazing food and awesome view. Warning it is very pricey.
Other than that, just do waterslides. We went for friends 40th last year. Rented a cabana down by the lazy river. Couple guys went out and bought a ton of beer to save money and we just chilled all day drinking beer floating around river.

I mostly gamble and hang out at the pools when at Atlantis - The Dig area is pretty cool there on property.

When heading off the Atlantis property -

The Tiki Bikini Hut (Junkanoo Beach) is always a good time.

The John Watling's Rum Distillery is pretty cool

Cable Beach is nice

Atlantis is great. If you have kids be prepared to hang at their Waterpark. Yes it is expensive but everything in the Caribbean and around is. Walk through the ruins (aquarium) at night it is unbelievable. Stick to the Cove beach because there are no locals allowed no one is hustling you. You will have no security issues at the resort.

Been there three times and enjoyed it, just wish there were fewer NYers.

I went down when my girls were little and they loved it. As for adulting, they have the casino and nice restaurants. Everything is super expensive so being on the company dime will be great for you.

Do expect "Island Style" service...as in slow. A "no worries mon" attitude prevails....its just the way it is.

You can walk over to the Queen's Steps, and get verbally assaulted for money, for a quick workout. You can go to the Graycliff Hotel (part of which is a mansion built by a pirate named....wait for it....Graycliff), and shop for overpriced cigars and chocolates, both made on property. Or you can do my favorite, stroll over to the Tiki Bikini Hut for talent watching and 4 beers and 4 shots for $10.
