I absolutely love this city. A huge, venerable European Capitol, but approachable, walkable, and somehow "small" at the same time. Can't say enough great things. I'll try and give a more full report when we return but for now, suffice to say - come and visit!

if you master public transportation, check out the area around the Octagon - lots of outdoor cafes. We went to a very good restraunt there called Klas, which is at 41 Andrássy út

Best Paprika in all of central-eastern European former Soviet bifurcated by the Danube cities. Stayed at the Intercontinental on the river a few years back. Got a laff on the way into town... was excited to dive into foreign culture but Wal-Mart was the first thing you pass on the way in from the airport.

Interestingly, there was a handful of hookers outside our hotel every late night we were there.
