What do you guys think the staff would look like if we indeed hire Bob Stoops? Would love to see something like what I have listed below. It has since been edited based on some of the responses in this thread.
To me something similar to this would be the perfect blend of young up & coming coaches, X’s & O’s gurus, recruiting studs, Bob’s guys, FSU guys, and of course the heart and soul of the program in Odell. Let’s roll...
Offense:
OC Kendall Briles
QB Jeff Lebby (or Chris Weinke)
RB Ja'Juan Seider (or Jay Boulware)
WR Ron Dugans (or a Stoops guy)
TE Steve Spurrier Jr. (yuck)
OL Randy Clements
Defense:
DE/ST Mark Snyder (or a Stoops guy)
DT Odell Haggins (Associate Head Coach)
LB/DC Jim Leavitt
DB Terrell Buckley (or a Stoops guy)
I think we can afford to be short one coach on defense since Bob Stoops is a defensive mastermind. We don’t necessarily need 5 coaches on that side of the ball.
However, if we do want a 5th defensive coach, maybe keep Raymond Woodie as a inside linebacker coach or off the field capacity as a recruiting coordinator?
Bob might be tempted to bring on his brother Mike Stoops. Could be a Co-DC and DB coach. That wouldn’t surprise me in the least.
Lastly, perhaps Adrian Peterson retires and wants to become our RB coach. Kids would certainly line up to play for him!
