Maybe I am going full potato here, but would this be a conceivable format? The entire 7 round draft is held from a Wednesday-Friday in a completely private conference room and closed circuit with the 32 "war rooms". No one allowed to attend, no television/media access whatsoever, and no players know where they are being picked. The only people who are involved are the GMs, coaches, and the commissioner's team. Then on Saturday/Sunday the draft is shown to the public on ESPN in REVERSE order, starting with Mr. Irrelevant, every individual pick in reverse order, climaxing with the top 10 and of course ending with the top overall pick. This would make the entire draft for more interesting from a viewer standpoint- you'd have more people watching the late rounds because it would be the beginning of the telecast and everyone's excited (as opposed to how it is now where the network loses half its audience for the late rounds). And of course the gradual buildup to the top 10 picks and what their final order is would be intriguing.

ESPN's all about drama- You saw how they revealed the CFB Playoff standings every Tuesday, tantalizingly slow, commercial break before revealing the top 5, etc. So I'm kind of surprised they haven't explored this idea.
