Remember Jim Leavitt leaving the team last week? He had to go ... we needed to open up a spot on the coaching roster for Mike Norvell.

Teams are only allowed to have 11 coaches at a time ... one head coach and 10 assistants.

Right now we have these guys filling those 11 spots:
  1. HC - Mike Norvell
  2. Interim HC/DL coach - Odell Haggins
  3. DC/DB coach - Harlon Barnett
  4. STC/OLB coach - Mark Snyder
  5. ILB coach - Raymond Woodie
  6. Defensive Assistant - Stanford Samuels, Jr
  7. OC/QB coach - Kendal Briles
  8. OL coach - Randy Clements
  9. WR coach - Ron Dugans
  10. TE coach - Telly Lockette
  11. RB coach - Donte Pimpleton
If we want to actually fully hire Kenny Dillingham as a coach then we have to open up a spot. He can't go out on the road until a spot is open.

That isn't hard, but keep in mind that we still have a game. If we boot someone (Pimp?) then we are down a man in prepping for the bowl.

Now we could have another off-field person fill in. Remember Jerry Johnson and one other doing that back in 2017 for the Shreveport Shin-Dig.

Also, some guys that we may want to hire are still in positions at their other schools. Oh, and we may want for guys like Briles and Clements to leave on their own so we don't have to buy them out. If they leave for another job then they would actually be on the hook for money to us as they are under contract (Briles has an out if he gets a HC job or a NFL job at any level).
