Forget Eagles...Timbalake just outshined the game

I wonder what the age limit is for the people who enjoyed Justin's performance versus those who would seriously consider a root canal before having to watch it again.

I am not a Timberlake fan but I can admit that he's a talented guy. I enjoyed his performance with Chris Stapleton a couple years ago at one of the country music awards shows. I didn't care much for the show last night. It got better toward the end but the beginning was terrible. It was hard to hear him singing much of the time. In fact, it seemed half the time he wasn't even singing. He just danced and let the backing track do the singing for him.

Dude sang non stop for 15 minutes while dancing and jogging around. Not sure how much more entertainment your crowd needs. I mean, did you want him to light himself on fire and cruise around the stadium in a jet pack charming snakes and wrestling alligators? What?

Dude...do you think everybody has to like the same crap you like? Does everybody have to think like you and have the same opinions and views?

You are really one the worst trolls on here, and you have the attitude that you know everything about everything.

I think you need to grow up.

How does preferring rock music performed by highly-trained/talented musicians make one "old"? Why does one have to apologize for valuing substance over style?

Justin Timberlake isn’t highly trained and talented?

I said in previous posts that he is indeed highly talented, but dance pop is not my preferred genre of music...In fact it's not in my top half dozen. If that makes me twice my actual age magically somehow, then so be it.

Can't possibly imagine why long time LR participants might leave....

I gave him a chance and watched the entire performance. I don’t hate the guy at all. He’s a good dancer and he’s got great stage presence. I just prefer different music. I’m not even against pop or dance music, but I like to see more spontaneity and less preproduction. Heck, I’d probably enjoy his music more if it was just him and his backing band. Too many bells and whistles for my taste.

What? Lol. I'm about the dumbest person on this board and I'm no JT fan boi, but I'm not gonna say it wasn't a good performance either. Think you need to chill...

You know it’s the same three cords over and over again, right

Seems a little over the top. What examples of him trolling do you have? His over the top flippant response here wasn't even trolling, simply humorously and dramatically asking how big of a show on a temporary stage is needed to appease some?

Something was definitely up with the audio, that definitely took away from show, I had to crank the volume up just to hear.

I would like to say that the sound of filmed live performances on tv is usually not too good because they use mics to pick up the sound and aren't hard wired in to the audio equipment...

But I'm not gonna say that because I don't want to come across as a know it all...:Face with Tears of Joy

I would much rather have watched the Marching Chiefs or the Marching 100 from FAMU. Last night’s halftime just didn’t keep my interest at all. As posted, the sound quality was turrible...

I am a 60yo raised on the rock of the 70s so his music has never been my cup of tea but I still enjoyed and thought he did a very good job.

Where have you been the last 3-4 years? This is his MO....and the fact that there are many...not just on this board, but all over....who think the show was week speaks volumes.

You're the one that needs to chill...many think the show was weak/bad/poor...why do you think your opinion is the "right" one? You'll notice I didn't call out anybody who liked the performance or said it was good? I simply posted what I and others who I was with thought about it, if some had liked it I would have said that.

Never said Timberlake wasn't talented. In fact, I enjoy his acting much more than I do his singing and dancing. He was great in Trouble with the Curve.

Bro, I just asked you a couple of questions and inserted my own brand of humor for levity. This is a place for that, it's what we do. I'm not sure why the outrage...

Didn't watch the game, but my family wanted to see the Halftime show so we turned on NBC for that. Personally I am not a JT music fan (I do like his acting), so I didn't enjoy it at all. The rest of the family does like his music but thought the overall show was just meh.

Their thoughts...The sound quality could have been better, and there seemed to be too much else going on. They would have preferred he started on stage instead of in the tunnel, and had regular fans around the stage instead of all the choreographed dancers. In other words, they said it was too much.

I didn't look it up, but it sure seemed to be the NSync guys when JT first came across the bridge structure on his way out.

I disagree. Cman is a master troller. This thread is a case in point.

Y'all might think I'm trolling but I really don't have anything against Boy Bands or cheesy halftime shows and I really do like Jimmy Fallon, Kiss, Applebees and Sonny's irl. I don't stick my nose into threads I don't know anything about like Bitcoin, the Dow, travelling abroad - or to Maui, cell phones or HOA and legal matters. I think Tiger is a douche but not for the reason most everybody else does. I believe that pitbulls are evil, all craft beer tastes nasty, all men are equal but different and that not everybody can carry the weight of the world and it's up to those who are able to, to help them out. That we're all brothers in arms (pun intended) and that we should do unto others as we would have others do unto us. If you can't take a little good natured tomfoolery, trolling or heckling then this is probably not the best place for you.

And while the above statement is true, I do troll some from time to time but it's never mean spirited, it's just to see who catches on and how long I can keep it going. If I got under your skin @Mugsy101 , it wasn't because I wanted to piss you off, I was just trying to lighten my boring ass day some and maybe somebody else's...

I think you just summed up what I've felt the overall vibe of the LR to be about for years now. Except the Sonny's part.

Agreed. Except:
I like Sonny's and don't like Applebees.
And disagree on pit bulls. I now have one so......
not all craft brew is bad
Don't car for KISS, always felt they were overrated and merchandised

So maybe I don't agree that much.

But definitely agree if a little trolling / goofing off gets under someones skin, the internet is likely not the right place for them.

Well, I believe in the soul. The [REDACTED]. The [REDACTED]. The small of a woman's back. The hanging curveball. High fiber. Good scotch. That the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. I believe there ought to be a Constitution Amendment outlawing Astroturf and the designated hitter. I believe in the sweet spot, soft-core pornography, opening your presents Christmas morning rather than Christmas eve. And I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last three days...Goodnight.
