FSU men's golf in sixth place at Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational

No. 5 Florida State men’s golf wrapped up its first two rounds at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational on Monday, shooting 3-over (284-279) and sitting in sixth place amongst the competitive field at Shady Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Seminoles improved in their second round, carding a 1-under score as a team. Among the top six teams in the field are first-place Oklahoma (-18), Arizona State (-13), Vanderbilt (-10), North Carolina (-5), Oregon (-3) and FSU (+3).

Senior Brett Roberts is 18th after shooting 1-under (71-68) on Monday, making him one of just 18 golfers to go under par for the day. A second-round 68 included a scintillating front nine where he delivered an impressive 31 with four birdies.

Redshirt senior Cole Anderson is tied for 26th at 1-over (72-69), also getting four birdies on the front nine in the second round in what was an eye-opening 32 score.

Sophomore Luke Clanton is tied for 34th at 2-over (71-71), staying consistent in both rounds with a pair of 71s. Clanton had an eagle in the second round on the par-5, 540-yard 14th hole to highlight his day.

Freshman Tyler Weaver and sophomore Jack Bigham are each tied for 40th so far at 3-over.
