I wanted to share this again. Here's a lil' reminder of who owns who...

(BTW- try reading with the warchant playing in the background. Or- that music from the Last of the Mohicans..."The Kiss." I used to play that for my soldiers before missions in Iraq.)

Just the facts, ma'am...

1. We lead the overall series 20-13, and it took our decline to give them the current 5 game win streak- or its 20-8 overall.

2. Their largest margin of victory is 59-10. Clempson was ranked #2, we were not ranked. Also, it required us having WT as a coach. Our biggest margin of victory is 57-0. Both teams were ranked for that game.

3. Their longest win streak in the series is 5, from 2015 to present. Ours is 11, from 1992-2002.

4. They have a slight edge in conference championships, at 18-15. Clemson joined the ACC in 1953, FSU in 1992.
So they've won 18 in 68 years, or 1 every 4 years. Before 2015, it was 13 in 63 years, or 1 in every 5 years. By contrast, we've won 15 in 30 years, or 1 every 2 years- and that includes our unprecedented slide lately. They needed our slide to pass us in league titles, but had a 40 year head start. Their 1978 & 1981 ACC championship teams are forever tainted by the massive recruiting violations that led to a 2 year bowl & TV ban.

5. We're tied in national championships, 3 apiece. They started playing football in 1896. We started in 1947. It took them longer to win their first, and they had to catch up to us despite a 52 year head start. Moreover, their 1981 championship team carries the taint of massive NCAA sanctions. The best they can say is that our guys got some free shoes in 1993.

6. They have no Heisman trophy winners, although the trophy's namesake John Heisman coached at Clemson. That's kind of embarrassing. We have our 3.

7. They have 30 consensus All-Americans, good for 25th among all 131 FBS programs. We have 45, good for 12th.

8. Here's a fun one- if you only consider games when both teams have been ranked (using the AP), then FSU's record is 7-4. Its 8-4 if you expand beyond the AP poll (the 2001 game with Greg Jones' amazing run would then count).

9. However, here's a REALLY fun one- let’s consider “marquee games,” times when both teams are ranked in the top-10 at the same time...FSU is 4-0. The average score is 45 to 20. I'll say that again: when both teams have played ranked in the top-10, which is supposed to be a marquee matchup, the average score is FSU: 45, Clempson, 20.

10. They have never shut us out. Clemson has never held us to only 1 score. We have shut them out 3 times. We've held them to one score 3 times.
So we've shut them out or held them to one score 6 times, they've never done that to us. This includes the 2000 game where #4 FSU beat #10 Clempson 54-7, and the 1993 game where #1 FSU beat #21 Clempson 57-0. But for a late meaningless TD, this would include the 2013 romp where the score would have been #5 FSU: 51 and #3 Clempson: 7.

11. They have been ranked #1 for 25 total weeks. Their first appearance as #1 came in 1981, 85 years after they started playing football. We have been ranked #1 for 72 total weeks. Our first appearance came in 1988, 41 years after we started playing football.
So, we've been ranked #1 for 3 times as long as they have, in 50 years less time. *Now, its worth noting that the 1981 ranking only came at the end of the year, and if they had been caught cheating earlier, it is likely that they would not have been ranked #1 at all that year. This means they would not have been ranked #1 until 2015, or 110 years after they first started playing football.

12. Perhaps the most telling feature of who owns who: They rub their rock while we plant a spear in...the ground.

13. I didn't even get into our 3-year draft pick record, our bowl undefeated streak, our bowl appearance streak, our consecutive seasons without a losing season streak, our 54 game home winning/undefeated streak, our 29 game winning streak, our total top 5 finishes, our 14 year top 5 streak, and of course- our official designation as a dynasty.

How do they compare to any of this? As a speed bump on the 153-year history of college football.

We're FSU. Don't ever forget that.

Good day.
