Quick Game Story: Seminoles Rally for 24-20 win at NC State

UPDATES
FINAL: FSU 24, NC STATE 20

1:09 LEFT IN FOURTH QUARTER: NCState's four-down pass fails. 'Noles are gonna win this 24-20.

3:09 LEFT IN FOURTH QUARTER: FSU 24, NC State 20: 'Noles answer with a touchdown pass from Francois to Travis Rudolph. A couple of HUGE catches by Noonie Murray and Kermit Whitfield on that drive.

4:37 LEFT IN FOURTH QUARTER: FSU will take over inside its 20-yard line after a nice defensive stop. 'Noles still trail by three.

MID-FOURTH QUARTER: Neither team has done much, but NC State has marched to midfield with about 6 minutes left.

END THIRD QUARTER: N.C. State 20, FSU 17: The 'Noles answer back with a quick touchdown drive. Nyqwan Murray had a couple nice catches, and Dalvin Cook made some big plays as well. Cook scores on an 11-yard run as the quarter ends.

3:00 LEFT IN THE THIRD QUARTER: N.C. State 20, FSU 10. Wolfpack march from their own 5-yard line ... 95 yards for a touchdown. Wolfpack score on a 23-yard end around.

MID-THIRD QUARTER: Neither team did much on next drives. But FSU pins the Wolfpack down inside their 10 with a nice punt and coverage by Marquez White. NC State will start there middle third.

EARLY THIRD QUARTER: Auden Tate fumbles on FSU's first drive of the second half. NC State takes over at its own 46.

HALFTIME: N.C. State 13, FSU 10.

:06 LEFT IN SECOND QUARTER: N.C. State 13, FSU 10: NC State goes right back down the field to take the lead again just before halftime. Fisher called two timeouts to ice the kicker, but Haskins hit the 39-yarder.

1:20 LEFT IN SECOND QUARTER: FSU 10, NC State 10: Great drive for the 'Noles in the final few minutes of the half. Jacques Patrick caps it off with a short TD run. The key play was a beautiful catch by Auden Tate on a deep ball over middle.

4:01 LEFT IN THE SECOND QUARTER: NC State 10, FSU 3: Wolfpack get good field
position and drive down inside the 5 before settling for a short field goal. They go with a new kicker, and he hits it from about 20 yards.

8:41 LEFT IN SECOND QUARTER: Another nice drive for N.C. State, but the Wolfpack try to cap it off with a short field goal that they miss. The Wolfpack kicker has been struggling in a big way. Still 7-3 Wolfpack.

12:36 LEFT IN SECOND QUARTER: NC State 7, FSU 3 -- Aguayo connects on a 32-yard field goal. Big play on the drive was a nice catch from Noonie Murray down deep into NCSU territory. Drive stalls inside the red zone, which has been a common problem.

END OF FIRST QUARTER: N.C. State 7, FSU 0. FSU has possession going into the second quarter.

1:52 LEFT IN FIRST QUARTER: Wolfpack take 7-0 lead on a pass from Finley to Cherry. It was third-and-long, and Finley hit him on a short crossing route for 28-yard catch and run. ... 'Noles helped them on the drive with a 15-yard personal foul on Ermon Lane and another offsides.

MIDWAY THROUGH FIRST QUARTER -- Neither offense doing much on the last couple drives. Also of note: N.C. State's left guard went down with a foot or ankle injury.

FIRST DRIVE -- N.C. State gets the ball first. Will start around own 23. ... Wolfpack drive the ball well, until Tarvarus McFadden picks off a pass at FSU's 7-yard line. That's McFadden's nation-leading 7th INT of the season. FSU takes over at its own 7.

PREGAME UPDATES

Good afternoon from Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C. Ranked 22nd in the College Football Playoff rankings, Florida State (5-3, 2-3 ACC) will seek its sixth win of the season as it faces North Carolina State (4-4, 1-3 ACC) at 7 p.m.

FSU is coming off a 37-34 loss to No. 3 Clemson last week. N.C. State is on a three-game skid as it lost to Boston College last week. In fact, it was the Eagles' first conference win in 12 games.

Per usual, we'll be providing pre-game updates. Once the game starts, this will turn into a live game thread.

>We've just finished the national anthem and soon the game will begin. We'll transform this into the live game thread. As always, thanks again for following along. (6:52 p.m.)

>Right now the team is going through the usual drills at this part in pre-game. Receivers and running backs are taking 10-to-15 yard passes from the quarterbacks. The defensive backs are in a group as are the linebackers and defensive linemen. (6:25 p.m.)

>FSU has now come out for stretches and based off what we've seen here's tonight's starting offensive line: Roderick Johnson-Kareem Are-Alec Eberle-Wilson Bell and Brock Ruble. Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher said either Bell or Derrick Kelly would fill in for freshman Landon Dickerson at right guard. Fisher on Thursday confirmed Dickersonw ould miss the rest of the year with a torn ACL. (6:18 p.m.)

>Now for your Marching Chiefs update. They've just arrived and are filling the the southeastern corner of the upper stands here at Carter-Finley. This makes up for the band missing the game against Miami due to the circumstances around Hurricane Matthew. (6:14 p.m.)

>We've seen Trey Marshall warming up. Actually, he's the person in the garnet sweatsuit with Derwin James. FSU said even though Marshall is suspended for the first half, he is indeed allowed to warmup for the game. He's not dressed out but he was getting loose. (6:10 p.m.)

>The quarterbacks are out with the centers. Deondre Francois is with Alec Eberle while Sean Maguire is paired with Andrew Boselli. J.J. Cosentino and Corey Martinez are the third pairing while the final grouping is Malik Henry and Baveon Johnson. Something worth noting, Eberle has a protective brace around his right arm during warmups. After warmups, Francois and Eberle shared a big hug and a few words between them. (6:04 p.m.)

>Ricky Aguayo is out along with punter Logan Tyler and other special teams members. Aguayo is lined up at the 40-yard line and logging reps on the hash or in the middle of the field. So far, he's 2-for-2. (5:57 p.m.)

>Here's video of James, who is dressed in garnet sweatpants and his white No. 3 jersey, running around during warmups. It's at a press box angle as we were not allowed on the field. (5:50 p.m.)

>Derwin James is on the field and moving around quite well. He's not dressed but he's walking around with ease and at one point jumped like he was defending a ball. Right now, he's lining up like a receiver and leaped about a foot or two for a one-handed catch. There's been no timeline on his return. Still, it's the most active we've seen James since his surgery. (5:44 p.m.)

>About 10 or so players have walked on to the field to get loose. They're out in gold pants which means tonight's uniform combo will be gold pants, white tops. Also, the conditions here are quite nice for the game. It's 61 degrees and sunny. Low for tonight's game will be around 48. (5:41 p.m.)
