It's official, DQ is a Florida resident. I flew down to TPA with the last of my clothes and the wife's dog on November 17th and I am here to stay. Living in Seminole, a mile from Indian Shores Beach. Wife is working at a Florida Cancer Specialists office and I am pounding the pavement looking for a job (so if anyone on the board knows someone. hiring......).

So far the move has been great. I run on the beach just about everyday. Looking forward to exploring the local area more this weekend, breweries, farmer's markets and more breweries. Love having so much time on the weekends before football starts but the negative to that is I can't stay awake for the end of the 8pm games.

I have been talking about this since I came on the board 12 years ago and it's hard to believe we finally made it happen. And let me apologize in advance for all the "Florida questions" I plan to post about. Plenty of stuff down here that this Colorado bumpkin has never seen before.

My wife is a social worker at Florida Cancer Specialists. They seem to do right by their people and it's a massive statewide practice.

What type of role are you looking for?

Welcome to the land of the weird, the hot, and crazy weather. It's going to be a blast.

I'm looking to break back in as well within the next couple of years. I want my cell block to have a water view!

Colorado > Florida.

Poor choice!
Utah>Wyoming>Montana>Colorada. CO has changed so much in the last 10yrs. But I hear ya. The best way to do it is split FL and out west 50/50 of the yr, then throw in a sprinkling of summer Cali and springtime new england.

They do treat their employees well. My wife is an office manager in the Largo branch.

I am looking for something in Marketing/events/business development. I have been with two non-profits over the past 15 years and so far that is hurting me as I interview in the corporate world.

Gonolz should weigh in. I recall he quit the big money job, moved to FL and for a couple years walked the beach and got into adventures.

Welcome DQ !
What are your skills? Previous experience ?
Been a Director of Sales & Marketing for a non-profit for the past (almost) 11 years. We sold legal training so I am checking with all the bar associations and law firms but otherwise there aren't a lot of players in the field. Probably gonna need to change industries.

I would suggest contacting legal document and deposition services company like U.S. Legal, Pitney Bowles etc. They'd probably love to have your connections.

Coincidentally, I am looking for a business development person but 1) we would need a fair amount of SEO and social media experience and 2) we would need a fair amount of travel to the panhandle as well as South Bama and Jawja. Also, the people in those positions usually have to look good in a dress to catch the eye of the docs we market to. I’m willing to reserve judgement on the latter until your photos show up.

But in all seriousness, drop me your number on my spam account tribe1l@hotmail.com and we can discuss next week.

our hospital system has its own foundation and they employ what seems to be an army of "business development" people, whatever that means. Maybe try looking for a not for profit hospital ?

UF Health has a ton of "development" people also. In the Bay area, Tampa General and Moffit are the only entities of that type.
