Several threads are here about the $20M vote this Thursday by the joint Tallahassee and Leon County Commissions for final approval of infrastructure funds for Doak.
The Commissions approved $10M last year for similar safety and infrastructure needs for 30,000 seat Bragg Memorial Stadium at FAMU.
FSU is asking for $20M for its 78,000 seat 72 year old Doak Campbell Stadium. This is not for luxury seating or skyboxes. Think rusting metal, paint, access/mobility ramps, restrooms, and structure.
By far, these two venues are the largest event spaces in Tallahassee/Leon and, by far, attract the most visitors to our community.
And, like no other places or causes, these two venues unite people of all different ages and socio-economic backgrounds in community support of our student athletes.
We need everyone on Warchant to take three minutes and click the link below to read a brief summary of the issue and then use the same link to send one email which will go to each of the 12 Commissioners.
If you comment, be courteous and respectful. These politicians have a thankless job. No need to vent in the e-mail. We need their support.
