Opens by talking about the physicality of the game. Two teams competed really hard. Said he saw both teams grow. Younger FSU players growing up.
"Unfortunately they made one more play."
Said kicking game was pretty good except for the one long return and need to make sure they field punts and not let them bounce.
As a team, need to make one more play in these games.
Says it's not a matter of doing things different ... just better. Said the OL is getting better. Special teams too. Got to improve not change things dramatically.
Keith Gavin is "pretty banged up." Wouldn't say more but that doesn't sound good. Said Jared Jackson, Tamorrion Terry, DJ Matthews are options for more playing time.
Talking about Cam Akers ... said he's doing a much better job of not bouncing every run and looking for big plays. Running with low level and power. Said Patrick also excellent day.
Question about what team has to play for. Jimbo says there's a lot. Juniors and seniors ... it's their NFL tape. Scouts won't want to see them backing off. They need to keep playing hard and improving.
On punting in Miami territory in the first half. Said trying to win field position, which they did. Said that was why Miami struggled on offense. Says one was fourth and 7. Out of reach for field goals.
On McFadden letting punts drop, not planning to make a change there. He can do it. Confident in him.
On Blackman making throws over the middle of field ... Fisher says he sees field well. Getting better.
On the last play, Jimbo gives a long explanation of the decision to play press man. Says they felt much better about that than dropping five defenders into the end zone to prevent touchdowns. (I'll recap in more detail later)
On Charles Kelly as defensive coordinator. "Extreme confidence in Charles. Will continue with Charles being our coordinator." Just need to make a few more plays.
On social media and the players being frustrated. Said he tells them not to be on it. They can read it. They aren't supposed to post. Asked if he has dealt with Dontavious Jackson posting a few things expressing frustration over the weekend. Fisher just says it's "internal."
On how much of offense they're running with Blackman: "We're not doing everything." Even if there's things he could do, how much could he do well? But he says there's plenty in there to be successful.
On challenges of this season (1-3 record, season delays, injuries) ... "It's part of life." Don't care about obstacles. Nobody cares about that.
On the ULM game being rescheduled, Jimbo said it's up to the administration. He hasn't talked about it or thought about it.
On Duke ... Jimbo says they are very versatile on offense and defense. Good in the kicking game. Good football team. "They're 4-2 for a reason."
On Trey Marshall and Landon Dickerson are day by day and will be evaluated. Marshall is concussion-related. Dickerson is ankle. Hard to know how quickly Dickerson will heal up. Didn't sound as confident on Marshall.
About Blackman's slow starts ... Jimbo said there's no substitute for experience. Said he's learning how to start. When the game's on the line, he's loosening up and not thinking so much and worrying about making mistakes. He's just playing. Jimbo said he's working on ways to help him get off to faster starts.
