LATE REPORT

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said after Tuesday's practice FB Freddie Stevenson could soon be cleared and return to practice. Stevenson missed the Chattanooga game with a concussion he suffered against N.C. State.

Fisher said Stevenson provides a number of attributes such as leadership to the offense. In Stevenson's absence, the offense has had both Dalvin Cook and Jacques Patrick take ample reps in blocking assignments.

As for players, we're currently speaking with DT Derrick Nnadi and OL Roderick Johnson.

Make sure you check back throughout the evening and morning for updated content.

EARLY REPORT

Yes. Tuesday was the last open practice of the regular season for Florida State. As always there were some interesting tidbits. Yet there was one new development. FSU has security throughout the facility keeping an eye on things. There's also security roaming Dick Howser Stadium because of how it overlooks the practice field. For the first time all season, someone was snuffed by security for trying to watch practice up there. Now, for the news:

FSU brought back the sound machine to simulate how loud The Swamp will be when it faces Florida on Saturday. The Seminoles used the same instrument prior to Clemson to acclimate players to the loud environment of Clemson Memorial Stadium. Jimbo Fisher said during Clemson week he liked the machine because it forced players to have better communication skills. The machine could be clearly be heard from 300 feet away. Distinct items like fans whistling, horns blowing and the whistle blowing could be heard as well.

LB Ro'Derrick Hoskins was out of practice again. He was wearing a knee brace as he watched. DE Chris Casher was held out of practice and was dressed in sweats. LB Reggie Northrup, FB Freddie Stevenson and RB Johnathan Vickers were all wearing blue non-contact practice jerseys. Also, TE Mavin Saunders was back after missing Monday's session.

Special Teams: FSU spent time with the hands team fielding onside kicks. Also, they worked on blocking and forming the best wedge possible to give Kermit Whitfield space and an open lane

Quarterbacks: Sean Maguire took a little bit more time than normal to stretch out his back for a second straight day. He did not appear to show discomfort. Maguire's throws were still crisp during open practice. Also, there was a warm up drill where the quarterbacks receive the ball and they make three quick throws in under 10 or so seconds. Freshman Deondre Francois showed off his arm by perfectly placing every pass where it needed to be.

Defensive Backs: Jalen Ramsey received praise from his teammates Monday about his practice habits. It was evident when an assistant coach said "Yes! Yes! Yes!" after Ramsey's display during backpedaling drills. Ramsey looked smooth when he stayed in a low crouch, backpedaled four or so steps before seamlessly breaking forward to catch the ball as if he were shadowing an actual receiver.

Linebackers: Northrup and Terrance Smith were getting most, if not all, of the reps. Today's assignment was for the linebackers to stay with specific players when they go in motion. It continues what the linebackers have done all season with having strengthened lateral movements.

Offensive Line: Today's first-team group was Roderick Johnson-Kareem Are-Alec Eberle-Wilson Bell-Chad Mavety.

Here's your Tweet of the Day:

There were no NFL scouts at practice but there was a Texans scout seen exiting Moore about 90 minutes prior to practice.

We've been told sometime around 6 p.m. for Jimbo Fisher and then we'll get players afterward. Until then, goodbye for now.
