I will try to make this as brief as possible, but wanted to provide some context to where things currently stand. There are significant risks ahead for all involved in P5 football. This is what each party is wanting to accomplish, the leverage they are using, and the risks involved if they fail.

Main Want:
ACC, PAC & FSU - relatively equal TV revenue within the P5.
B1G - voting blocks of ACC and PAC to counter the SEC and limit the recruiting arms race
SEC - continued national domination
Big 12 - to hang onto its P5 status.

Main Leverage:
ACC - holding up the playoff expansion until it gets relatively equal TV revenue compared to the B1G and SEC
FSU - could try to hold up both the ACC and the Alliance if TV revenue isn't balanced. Could play King Maker when SEC/ESPN engages to counter B1G/FOX.
PAC - using voting block to preserve the Rose Bowl and B1G relationship
B1G - forms the Alliance to outvote, outmaneuver and isolate the SEC
SEC - dominant player with ESPN backing ; feels it could add teams from other conferences at any time
Big 12 - very little, try to hold OU and UT hostage for a couple more years and hang onto P5 status

Biggest Risks:
ACC and PAC - B1G plays hardball, turns the tables and works with the SEC to gut all the remaining valuable teams. ACC and PAC destroyed.
FSU - status quo remains leaving FSU to fall further behind; ACC boots FSU out of conference for stonewalling the Alliance and overplaying its hand
B1G - SEC turns the tables and goes for it all and steals all the best remaining teams
SEC - Alliance forms and SEC is left out of Alliance and can only play itself; not included in Alliance National Championship Playoff after 2025
Big 12 - loses P5 status; remaining best teams get poached by other P5 conferences
NCAA and all of P5 - athletes are deemed employees and current model has to be blown up completely

Very turbulent and dangerous times ahead and I expect friends to become foes before all of this is resolved. Who will fire the next shot?
