So my mail carrier is retiring and I'm not sure if a retirement gift is appropriate. I live in a small town, and she walks her route every day and delivers mail to the front door of every house. She is very friendly and I know her by name. I'm thinking I should probably get her a card and $20? I usually give her a gift at Christmas too. Does that seem about right?

I think throwing her a little neighborhood retirement party would be appropriate. Nothing fancy, just a potluck/BYOB type of thing. Some blue and white frosted cupcakes would be nice.
