NC State recovers the onside kick and then runs out the clock. That's the ball game.
NC State 38, FSU 22 FINAL

Chubba leads em down to another score. This time Warren Thompson makes a terrific catch in the end zone over a defender. Caught it off his back and then landed in bounds. Great catch.
Purdy with his second TD pass of the night. Two-point conversion is no good again.
NC State 38, FSU 22 1:41 4th

FSU defense gets gashed for a few runs. Really the only time all night NC State has had consecutive positive running plays. Seminoles force an incompletion on third down and NC State finishes off the drive with a FG.
NC State 38, FSU 16 4:36 4th

Jarvis Brownlee makes an unbelievable INT in the end zone. You'll see it on SportsCenter or on social media. Just an unreal play with his legs. Purdy then finds Pokey Wilson wide open in the middle of the field for a 69-yard TD pass.
NC State 35, FSU 16 9:54 4th

FSU defense gets a 3 and out. But Jay fumbles the punt. NC State goes down and scores, because of course. Brendan Gant missed a tackle on a guy who had his back turned.
NC State 35, FSU 9 1:30 3rd

Seminoles actually scored a second-half touchdown! Converted three fourth downs on the drive, the last one out of the wildcat with Corbin going 28 yards for the score. First second-half TD since the Notre Dame game. Only the second one against an FBS team all year. Went for 2. Used Rodemaker for some reason. It didn't work.
NC State 28, FSU 9 5:14 3rd

FSU offense goes three and out thanks to a facemask on Dontae Lucas, who made his presence felt in a big way on his first series of the game. NC State goes right down the field and scores again. This time on an 18-yard TD run.
NC State 28, FSU 3 10:34 3rd

Rodemaker gets FSU to around midfield on a 17-yard scramble. Then takes a horrible sack and then throws an INT with nine seconds left. NCSU's last-ditch pass is incomplete and that takes us to halftime. Mercifully.
NCSU 21, FSU 3 HALFTIME

Hockman leads em down the field again. Converts another third down. And then runs it from 4 yards out. He's now 17 of 20 for 193 yards and two TDs and then has run for another. Looked like he had something to say to Travis Jay after that last one. Anywho, don't even feel like the defense is playing terribly. Just can't cover anyone in the middle of the field. Ever.
NCSU 21, FSU 3 1:32 2nd

FSU goes 3 and out with Rodemaker at QB. Not sure what that was about, other than they just wanted the other freshman to get a series? At any rate, it didn't go well. Horrible pass on second down. And then Pokey gets tackled basically where he catches it on third down. FSU punts again.
NCSU 14, FSU 3 3:40 2nd

FSU defense gets a six and out thanks to a hold on NCSU on a fourth-down conversion. FSU will start at its own 18 after just narrowly missing blocking that punt.
NCSU 14, FSU 3 5:06 2nd

FSU manages a drive, converts a couple of fourth downs, and gets to the NCSU 30. Thompson drops a pass on third and 11 (wouldn't have gotten the first anyway), but the Groat comes through with a 48-yard FG. No shutout tonight, Wolfpack!
NCSU 14, FSU 3 8:11 2nd

Wolfpack score in five plays. Hockman finds Thomas wide open over the middle on a blitz. Also made a nice throw on third-and-two to a WR who wasn't wide open. But he threw it in a perfect spot.
NCSU 14, FSU 0 13:18 2nd

Norvell elects to go for it on 4th and 1 from his own 31. Corbin doesn't get it out of the wildcat. NC State takes over.
NCSU 7, FSU 0 15:00 2nd

FSU defense gets a fourth down stop at its own 10. Robert Cooper blew up the 4th and 1 play with the push and Robinson made the tackle. FSU gave up two more third down conversions on that drive. Seminoles are getting a nice push up front, one of the best they've had all year, but secondary is getting torched so far. OT Darius Washington just limped off with an injury before this third down play.
NCSU 7, FSU 0 2:55 1st

FSU goes three and out. A false start basically doomed the drive on what was going to be a wildcat with Corbin. Pass to Helton was good for 8 yards, but he needed 9. The pass was too high and Helton didn't do anything special with it once he caught it. Ran into traffic, came up short. N.C. State has the ball right back.
NCSU 7, FSU 0 7:37 1st

N.C. State marches right down the field, converting two third downs and overcoming 20 yards in penalties and a 10-yard sack. Bailey Hockman is 8 of 8 for 93 yards and a 21-yard TD pass to Emezie, who beat Samuel on the catch and then broke his tackle attempt.
N.C. State 7, FSU 0 10:01 1st

We're about to kick off here at N.C. State. FSU is decidedly short-handed, but that's just par for the course in this crazy year.
FSU wins the toss and defers. N.C. State will get the ball first.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

What's up, folks?
I'm live here at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.
Jordan Travis, it turns out, is not. We were just officially notified that he DID NOT make the trip for this one.
So, Chubba Purdy will be getting the start.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to kickoff.

6:02 p.m. - A group of WRs came out to in undershirts to warm up. They are wearing pants, too! ... I see Helton, Thompson, Pokey and Williamson out there. Along with walk-on WR Parker Self. I do not see Kentron Poitier or Brian Robinson. That doesn't necessarily mean anything, but the rest of them are out there.

6:15 p.m. - The running backs have come out and it looks like they're all here. No one missing from that group it doesn't appear.

6:27: - Hamsah Nasirildeen is going through individual DB warmups. He's out there practicing back-pedaling, starting, stopping and bursting. He's wearing football pants. And a warm-up undershirt jersey. He's obviously testing it to see if he can play tonight. We'll keep you posted.

6:38: -- Travis Jay is dressed out in full pads. He's stretching with the specialists right now.

6:45 -- Nasirildeen is indeed dressed out for the first time this year. So a 5 will still be on the field for FSU. We'll see how much he plays. But that's positive news for the Noles.

6:46 -- Akeem Dent is also dressed out for this one. So is Poitier, not sure why he wasn't out with the WRs earlier. I still don't see Robinson. Or Jordan Young for that matter.

6:51 -- So unless Robinson and Young are hiding for some reason, there are only five scholarship WRs available for tonight's game: Thompson, Helton, Poitier, Wilson, Williamson.

6:54: No Renardo Green for tonight. No Meiko Dotson either. And we did get confirmation that Young and Robinson didn't make the trip either. No Corey Durden either. He did not make the trip.

7:06 Freshman Thomas Shrader will be getting the start today at left guard in place of Dontae Lucas, who is getting reps with the second team right now. That means FSU will have four freshmen (two redshirts, two true) on the starting O-line tonight. To go along with a true freshman QB.
