Besides that, Japan is our allies so if Kim were stupid enough to drop a bomb on them the North would be a desert very very quickly.

I'm suggesting Japan is not weak. They have material stored at home and around the world to make about 5000 nuclear weapons.
I'm suggesting Kim isn't really our problem.

Thing is, once someone has a nuke, they become our problem. Non-proliferation is our mantle, we cannot have a nuclear power, which NK apparently now is, exporting technology or materials.

We are the US, we maintain the world order. Unless you'd prefer China do it, which they seem well on their way to doing.

NK moved an ICBM in the middle of the night to be launched on Saturday.

South Korean media earlier this week reported that a North Korean ICBM appeared to be on the move, and CNN cited the South Korean prime minister on Thursday as saying that "some believe" a launch Saturday was possible.

Also this week, North Korea said the US could expect more "gift packages" in the form of further missile testing. With only two successful tests on record, North Korea's latest ICBM is in need of further trials.

But firing a ballistic missile thousands of miles across the globe could have disastrous consequences if not executed properly.

Japan should shoot it out of the sky, it's in their airspace. NK kidnaps Japanese citizens, tortures them and kills them. They fired on Japanese fishing boats and attack their military in hit and run shots. Japan needs to respond WW2 style.
