QB: Jordan Travis has all the potential to be a top 25 QB nationally, and one of the nations elite dual threats. Travis has shown the last two seasons he is arguably the top running QB in the country, although I would personally give Malik Cunningham that honor. Depth and Travis’s ability to stay healthy, are obviously big concerns. If one of Tate Rodemaker or freshman AJ Duffy can step up, that would be truly fantastic. A transfer wouldn’t be a bad thing here over the off-season. If Travis can stay healthy, he could provide us the best QB play we have had since Jameis. A healthy Jordan could result in this unit being a B+ to even a A, but that could quickly change if injuries occur.

RB: Losing Jashaun Corbin early to the NFL was a pretty big blow. TreShaun Ward and Lawrence Toafili have game breaking ability, but neither would be viewed as a workhorse. DJ Williams and Trey Benson provide size. Benson apparently is extremely fast as well. Rodney Hill is a dark horse. I love his potential. Don’t really see Corey Wren being a big factor here. Jakhi Douglas is a hybrid that can play here or at WR. He also has game breaking ability Overall a RB by committee, behind this seasoned OL, and with the threat of Travis, could likely reach 180-200 yards rushing a game for the third straight season. If these RB’s play up to their potential, this could definitely be a B+ unit.

WR: This position will likely look more different than any other on the roster. FSU added four transfers in Winston Wright, Mycah Pittman, Johnny Wilson and Duece Spann. I expect the first three to be instant impact guys. Spann is more of a project. Wright could be the most productive WR FSU has had since in a while. Could easily see 50-60 catches from him. The transfers all provide different skillsets too. Pittman is going to be a great chain mover for us. Additionally FSU brings back Ontario Wilson and Keyshawn Helton, as well as promising youngster Malik McClain. FSU also gets Joshua Burrell back from injury. He is a monster in the weight room and could be a solid possession WR. Not sure what to expect from any of Jordan Young, Kentron Poitier and Darion Williamson. Maybe one of them steps up. Destyn Hill is still a strong possibility as well. Overall this could go from our greatest weakness to a potential strength. Give it a projected B grade. It was a D- last season.

TE: Cam McDonald returning is huge for this unit. Brings stability that is much needed. Look for him to have a productive season and potentially work his way into being a NFL draft pick. Have really high hopes for Jackson West. Think he could turn out to be a really high performer. Love the size Markeston Douglas brings as a blocker. Wyatt Rector or Koby Gross add some mature depth and on special teams. The two new freshman Brian Courtney and Jarelle Powers have potential. Overall this is a solid B.

OT: Robert Scott and Darius Washington bring back a ton of experience to the tackles. I think both have All-ACC potential. Lloyd Willis and Rod Orr provide some mature depth. Really excited to see what newcomers Julian Armella, Jaylen Early and Daugherty Richardson bring to the table. This is the best tackle has looked in years. Potential A group, but will go with B on the conservative side.

OG: Dillan Gibbons might be the overall leader for the entire OL. The other guard spot is a big question with Thomas Shrader, Bless Harris, Zane Herring, and Bryson Estes battling it out. Newcomers Kanaya Charlton and Quaeshon Sapp bring a lot of size to the unit. Would be shocked to see them leapfrog over some of the more tenured guards. If one of the guards can solidify themselves as a solid starter opposite Gibbons, this could be a solid B unit. Don’t be shocked if a tackle has to slide inside.

C: Kayden Lyles is just want the doctor ordered at center. Maurice Smith is a solid player but currently lacks the size to take it to the next level. Lyles could be an All-ACC center. Between these two the center position could be a possible A grade.

Overall this will be the best and most complete offensive roster we have had in probably 4-5 years. I don’t see any reason that barring any huge injuries this unit can’t put up north of 34 points a game. Should be an exciting team to watch with Norvell and Atkins scheming up ways to produce yards and points.
