You wouldn’t know it was the Early Signing Day on Wednesday if you were watching Florida State’s practice this morning. It was a very business-like few hours on the practice field, with part of the time spent indoors at the start and end of the day.

“I really liked the energy from the guys today,” FSU coach Mike Norvell said. “You see guys really rising up and improving, which is always a positive here when you get to this point in the season.”

FSU’s scout-team players were back in black for the first time since the days before the FSU-Florida game. It’s another sign of the Seminoles being about a week away from facing Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl on Dec. 29.

Talking with the FSU players after the practice, there is a high level of focus on the road ahead and the potential to grab a 10th win against the Sooners.

The best catch of the day: Darion Williamson had a really nice diving grab on a deep pass from Tate Rodemaker in 11 on 11.

Johnny Wilson had a nice grab in 11 on 11 that set up the offense in the red zone. And he also made a one-handed catch in 1 on 1.

We saw some good reps among the big boys, including a 1-on-1 between Jared Verse and Darius Washington.

A few of you had asked if offensive lineman Bless Harris is are practicing. He was participating in Wednesday’s practice.

The team will practice tomorrow and the Seminoles get a few days off before making the trip down to Orlando on Dec. 25

Among those watching FSU’s practice were longtime defensive ends coach Jim Gladden as well as receiver Kez McCorvey and defensive back Bill Ragans. McCorvey is coaching at North Florida Christian, while Ragans is at Chiles.
