Welcome to the Pittsburgh Week edition of Recruiting Roundup.

This week the format will be slightly different as we will skip the usual opening statement and talk about where things sit with Florida State's 2024 recruiting class. We have seen your questions on the board about what remains for Florida State for this recruiting cycle and since we are in the middle of a two-game road stint, this is a perfect time to address what we are hearing and what you can expect on the recruiting front for the next month until Early Signing Day.

What's Next for Florida State's 2024 Class?

Things will be quiet for the next two weeks until the Miami game as that will be the last big recruiting weekend that Florida State will host this season. We expect a lot of current Florida State commits to attend the Miami game. There are quite a few high profile prospects that will be in attendance for the game but a favorable outcome against the Hurricanes will be more impactful for future classes as we doubt there will be significant news for the 2024 class. And it has a chance to stay that way until Early Signing Day as Florida State is mostly done with it's 24' class and there will only be changes if there is a definitive take that becomes available. Other than that, Florida State will continue to hold official visits for commits and targets in December before Early Signing Day on December 20th.

For those of you that are recruiting fanatics, you'll know that every cycle can play out differently depending on positional needs, scholarships available, how many current players will need to be replaced (eligibility, portal, draft), and if you've been able to hit on the prospects on your board. There are years like last year where you have 15-16 kids heading into late December and end up with 19 on ESD. There are also years like this year where Florida State has 22 commits in the class and it's only November.

Florida State will likely take 1-2 more players in this cycle. One of those players will likely be Jamari Howard, a four-star DB out of Miami Norland High School.

He has been a heavy lean towards Florida State for the past two months and will likely choose FSU over Rutgers, Michigan State, Miami and Maryland on November 10th.

Florida State also recently offered 2024 Four-star S/LB Koi Perich, who is currently committed to Minnesota. He is considering an official visit to Florida State after the season is over. It's not a coincidence that FSU offered Perich so late in the season. FSU has done their homework and if Norvell and the coaching staff feel good enough about Perich to offer him with an almost full class, then you have to think that if Perich does end up visiting Tallahassee in December and decides he wants to play for the Seminoles, he will be a take. He is one of those players you take and then figure out where to play him.

You can read more on what Perich had to say about his Florida State offer, here:

This one is a bit obvious and it will come down to the final hours to see if Florida State can complete the flip but if the #1 WR in the country backs off his commitment to Ohio State, FSU will make room to try and land him.

There is a possibility that Florida State will have to part ways with current commits in order to take on a late addition to the class. If that ends up being the case, here is who we think might be moving on:

Both of these guys have the potential to be recruited over if FSU lands any of the remaining targets. Jamorie Flagg had a good junior season but has gained a lot of weight since then and he has lost a bit of his burst that made him raise eyebrows. As for Hickman-Collins, he is a project and with how good Jayden Parrish's senior season has been going, Hickman-Collins may be the odd man out. If Florida State does end up enticing Koi Perich to flip, there is a higher probability that the attrition will happen here instead of the DB's.

This is the only aspect of the class that is up in the air. FSU has the fortune of being extremely picky with how much they have hit on the top guys on their board. You have the #1 prospect at multiple positions and Mike Norvell and his staff have done a great job at aggressively recruiting positions that will be seeing a lot of attrition at the end of the year. Look for Norvell to bring in about 8-10 players from the portal and at most 2 more high school prospects - one of them being Howard.
