The Kroger and a BP near me have closed their pumps. A Texaco had a line with at least 20 cars in line.

So many fearful sheep. Will listen to the TV and believe whatever the newscaster tells them or the "experts/person of authority" they are interviewing tells them. We destroyed our economy and way of life over a virus with a 99.98% survival rate. The kind of people that run into burning buildings to save people or towards gunfire to stop a shooter or storm a heavily fortified beach in Normandy France are a rarity these days unfortunately. Why is it that humans (can’t be just Americans) get in panic mode over the slightest possibility of something really bad happening? Between the toilet paper last year and now this— it’s insane. Happens all the time with the weather fear. Are we this fearful as a species?
Uncertainty leads to emotional responses. Exaggerates your psychological responses, so if you are paranoid or fearful you react like that. Why is it that humans (can’t be just Americans) get in panic mode over the slightest possibility of something really bad happening? Hoping enough drivers are available to distribute it, there have been warnings of driver shortages for about a month which makes these situations worse. There’s no good reason for it because the storage supplies are full, and the issue will be fixed by weeks end. In Florida there is absolutely no reason to be doing this.
Like after any strong storm the news runs to the trailer parks to show the damage.Nah. If you live in the south, than you know every single year we have runs on the grocery story on the first forecast of the "big winter weather event". Stores simply can not handle a run on their products if a small percentage of people alter their routine and purchase earlier than normal. The stores can not instantly increase supply to meet a spike demand. Nothing different with the gas stations. A very small percentage of people topping off their tanks a day or two earlier than normal will put a strain on supply. Obviously there are stories of people filling up multiple gas cans and even putting gas in a shopping bag, that has to be made up right lol? But those are the same nuts that purchase 4 loafs of bread and 3 gallons of milk in the part of the country that has never seen a winter storm shut down a city for more than a few days. While those people are doing their part on increasing demand on store runs, they are not the root cause. The camera loves the outliers of society and it is low hanging fruit reporting to find some person at Walmart in a wife beater acting nutty in any given situation.
Fear is ingrained in our dna for self preservation. It wasn't too long ago if we caught someone in our territory that was a stranger outside our clan, we would kill them. These fears are often played on for various purposes. We are all easy targets of manipulation through the camera and how easy it is to accept any narrative when viewing the world through such a limited medium. The real story here is interruptions caused spike demand which will quickly be fixed and supplies will be restored and nut jobs will continue to be nutty.
I haven't had the need for the Gas Buddy app before but I just downloaded it just in case. This concerns me as I am planning to be in Tally this weekend. I haven’t had any issues finding gas here in Jax and I filled up last night. Will have plenty to get to Tally but returning might be a problem if y’all are running out of fuel over there. 😱
I didn't know there was an app for that...thanks!I haven't had the need for the Gas Buddy app before but I just downloaded it just in case.
I paid $2.72 at Sam's on Monday, it's at $2.75 today. Costco is at $2.77.The Gas Buddy app didn't work much yesterday because it is swamped with folks looking for gas.
No run on gas here, $2.58 at Costco.
This part of north Florida(Gadsden, Leon, JeffCo) gets their fuel from a pipeline running to Bainbridge GA. One of the 2 terminals there completely ran out of gas on Saturday and the other will be completely out today. So here and anywhere else across the country connected to this pipe will literally have no gas coming starting Thursday unless the problem is fixed. There’s no good reason for it because the storage supplies are full, and the issue will be fixed by weeks end. In Florida there is absolutely no reason to be doing this.
That’s because Jax gets their gas on a barge and isn’t relying on the Colonial pipelineNot a real panic here in Jax. $2.83 a gallon at Daily's. They're still saying the issue will be resolved by the weekend.

There is also a massive driver shortage- especially in the fuel delivery business
But worry not as I’m sure our fearless *President is all over it!
love the critical thinking and mindset 100% agreeSo many fearful sheep. If you do run out of gas, just start running on the interstate and soon the police will escort you to your destination of choice.90% of Florida gas stations are stocked up and the other ten percent will be by tonight, reported on 11 o’clock news.
Panic buying is causing the shortages where they do exist.
I'm actually experiencing a gas build up, if you will, over in bammer. Not a real panic here in Jax. $2.83 a gallon at Daily's. They're still saying the issue will be resolved by the weekend.
😷 are you saying you're full of hot air?I'm actually experiencing a gas build up, if you will, over in bammer.
All I know is that this weekend I'm really going to have a blast.😷 are you saying you're full of hot air?
I would think that today will see lots of fuel deliveries there.Circle K near I10 exit 203 has a few pumps of regular unleaded (inner islands)
I drove over on Friday and other than the fact that several Tally stations were at $3.02 a gallon, there was no problem getting fuel. Back home in Jax and paying $2.81 today. It was hit and miss around Tally this afternoon. Some stations had gas but others didn’t. Even a few of the Circle Kraps had gas.
