I realize hindsight is “20-20.” But could FSU’s current football problems be related to the fact that when Jimbo flirted with LSU in 2015 & 2016, that we gave him a 2-year contract extension and $500,000 raise? Even though we tried to keep Jimbo happy, we were 5-6 under him in 2017 (2-0 under Odell). Neither his contract extension nor $ increase changed Jimbo’s attitude or our on field product. It seems we should have encouraged Jimbo to take the LSU gig,
Over the years I have employed hundreds of people. At one time I worked to hold on to “star employees” and often paid more to keep them. But no matter how much more I paid, at times their attitude soured and they failed to excel in their work. Now when an employee tells me they have received a better offer, I encourage them to take the job. I am happy, and our work force is healthier with fewer “’Prima Donnas” and less dysfunction.
