Spring football in Florida had their first day of practice yesterday. Each team in the state of Florida will practice for the next 2-3 weeks and end their spring with either a game or inter squad scrimmage. Two of the teams we visited yesterday were West Broward and Somerset Academy. Both teams have players who have been offered by FSU. Joshua Moore and wide receiver from Pembroke Pines, Florida and KJ Baker from Somerset Academy. West Broward once known as a doormat to the rest of Broward County has now become one of the better teams under the guidance of Coach Brian McCartney. He has turned around a program that was not known for winning ball games. The roster for West Broward has been infused with talent. Moore has offers from not only FSU but many other major D1 programs. Baker is also seeing his offer sheet grow. We will break down these two players and other prospects we feel will draw attention from college coaches who visit this spring.

WR-Joshua Moore- West Broward HS- 6'3-200 (2025)
: Moore has all the tools you want in a receiver. He has both size and speed. He does a good job of getting separation from defensive backs. He uses his size to his advantage. Moore also has pretty good hands. Last season he recorded over 50 catches for over 800 yards. He also had 9 touchdowns. In 2022 as a sophomore he had over 50 catches for over a 1,000 yards and double digits in touchdowns. We expect him to have a career year for the West Broward football team. (We feel the Seminoles are the team to beat for Moore.)

OT-Alejandro Scmitt-West Broward HS-6'6-270 (2026):
Schmitt last year was around 250-260 pounds. This spring he is pushing 290 pounds. On film he displays good feet. He can move well laterally. You can see him struggle at times with physical defensive lineman. That seemed to be remedied this off-season and Scmitt spent a ton of time in the weight room and looks different. We watched him yesterday and Alejandro looked really good. He reminds us of Jonathan Feliciano who played for Western HS, went to University of Miami and now is on the 49ers in the NFL. Scmitt recently got offered by UF. We expect FSU to take a look at him as there are not many tackle prospect in the state of Florida that possess his skill set. (Reported Offers: Pitt, FAU, UF)

DB-Kelvin Reyes-West Broward-6'1-180 (2025):
Reyes is another player who stood out yesterday. While they were not in full pads, you can see some of the physical attributes with Reyes. He is a good athlete. You can see he has some range by how much ground he covers and does it quickly. Reyes is an under the radar prospect who holds some D1 offers. We could see him draw attention this spring. (East Carolina, UMASS, Michigan State, Ohio)

Kaj Baker #1

Ath: Kaj "Nitro" Baker: 5'7-160 (2026): Baker is a legit speedster. He has run 10.35 in the 100(m). That is flying. He has run in the low 4.4 range at football camps. Baker is not tall (5'7) but size is not a problem. He is built very well. Baker this spring is working at not only running back but receiver. He has cat like quickness. You will see him put his foot in the ground and lose a defensive back. Baker has that ELITE Trait. I always look for the one trait that stands out and Baker is FAST. (FSU and Miami have offered Baker as well as University of Pittsburgh)

Ath: Amare Nugent: 6'1-175 (2027)
When you step on the field over at Somerset Academy Nugent was one of the first players that stood out. Nugent plays on both sides of the football. He has the length you want in an athlete. Nugent is a prospect that we feel will be invited to FSU summer camp to work out. (Holds an offer from FAMU). We feel this will be the first of many offers for Nugent.

Other Prospects
Ath. Zaheed Pierre - West Broward-6'0-175 (UMASS, Bowling Green Offers)
