As far as we know, FSU HAS NOT received an invite from the SEC or B1G. Yet. As the zoomers would say, we are just simping.
All of the reporting on what might happen next has failed to include any concrete evidence - a source, a document, or someone from the university with knowledge - that we are getting an invite to one of the two major conferences. It would make sense for FSU to be in the SEC due to geography, our similar recruiting bases, and even our history against SEC programs like Florida, Georgia and Alabama (Bowden almost coached there), but anything linking us to the SEC is pure speculation.
Given our history with the SEC, when we were turned away in the 1990s, got no respect in 2014 and 2015 (compared to Bama), and regularly get no respect from ESPN/SEC fans, I have zero expectations that they will give us a lifeline. Hope I’m wrong, but nothing about the past suggests we should expect any help from them in the future. The silence from ESPN and the SEC is deafening.
