The NCAA diminishment

So with the NCAA becoming irrelevant, is there a chance for the conferences to take back the college basketball playoffs? I know this is a football centered board but March Madness is a huge cash cow that mostly goes to the NCAA. Why, with all the re-structuring, is there no discussion of that elephant in the room? The ACC and BIG in particular could make big dollars from wrestling control of basketball from the NCAA.
